4 skills to pick for chaos

Post by berserker »

Hello

My chaos team is developping well and after an easy 5-1 win vs dark elves (destroyed them in 1st half so he fielded only 3 players in 2nd half) I have 4 skills to pick.

So far after 9 games:
CW block
CW Skill
CW
BM Skill
BM Skill
BM Block -Nig-
BM Block
BM Block
BM Block
BM Claw Block
BM Dirty Player
BM Guard, rolled double 3
BM Sure Hands -mng-
BM
Troll Block
3 RR
13 FF
40k treas

Next game is vs dwarf, no game vs dodgy teams in sight (at least 3 games) so no need for tackle right now

I was between Block and Guard for the CW
BM Kick and dirty Player
BM guard double is my major doubt

I like stand firm with guard but mutations are tempting too

Advice on the 4 skills welcome

Block, Kick, Dirty Player, and Claw.

Yes. Multiple Dirty Players are a good thing.

Stand firm fo the doubles BM: Guard and Stand Firm is a good and annoying combination. Else your guard player will be pushed away first (at the LOS for example) and the palyers he was supposed to guard batered afterwards.

For the other two BM:
Sure Hands: to have two is far better than to rely on only one ball handler, even more when the opponent has strip ball players. With two you have more options in your offense.
Strip Ball: Defense Sweeper, else you won't stop Wardancer, Gutter runner and all those Blodge scorer regardless if it's a Human Catcher or a creepy Goblin.

If I would be in your Situation I would give:
Guard to one Beastman
Block or Kick to the second Beastman
Block or Mighty Blow for the Chaos Warrior - in my opionion Guard is not so good for Chaos Warriors with St. 4 but for Bestman its great because most of the time the Chaos Warriors are the Blockmakers and they are hitting the enemy Team.
For the Bestman with double Claws or Stand Firm

Yes definatly Stand Firm for the guard... there is no doubt here.

I'd go block for the CW... only because there is little better...
Kick for one BM and Surehands for the other... little doubt there

:o Under no circumstanses would I give another Beastman Sure Hands!

You have a team with 4 Strength, 3 Agility players. If you're not using the Chaos Warriors to carry the ball, then you're not getting the best out of the team.

For the Beastman with doubles I would choose claw.
The CW should have Block.
One BM should get sure hands and the other guard.

I would stick with Block on the CW and put Guard on a second BM instead of DP - one DP is usually enough with IGMEOY. Kick for the other BM, definitely! Kick is SUCH an important skill, and most players underrate it.

For the doubles: Razor Sharp Claws would probably be the 'typical' choice, but I prefer your choice of Stand Firm with Guard. However, as boring as it is I personally would go with Leader - another reroll would help your team more than any single skill you could pick at the momenet and that's a $140k skill with your uber-high reroll cost.

If I field my ogre and my 3 CW, I field 7 BM out of 11 and 10 have a skill.
So it means I'll have skilled players in the dugout. I can foul at will with the first DP and if he's expelled, the other will replace him at the next drive. At worst it one DP for each half as the eye is reset...

I'll take the kick for the same reason, fielded on D, res on offense as I have enough options.

The CW will get block.

And I'll take stand firm on the double as it also helps dodging...

Thanks for the input
