Chaos Dwarfs vs. Ogre team, any good suggestions?
I will be playing against an Ogre team this evening and I fear I'll have to fight it out respectively get mangled.
My team is TR117
2x BC (one break tackle), 5x CDs (no extra skills), 4x Hobos (1x AG4, 1x Kick)
His team has TR190, all Ogres have one skill, two of them Block, 4 Goblins one of them his main scorer with AG4, sure feet, sprint, sidestep, leap. He usually scores with TTM.
Last season I won against him with Skaven but this time I can't dodge away and play around him.
Any useful suggestions? How would you set up? Problem is if you set up in defense for TTM, your frontline get mangled, and vice versa I can't defend against that flying Gobo?
I will try to make 1D or 2D-against blocks pushing all Ogres in contact away and not following up, so that he can't beat the crap out of me.

Pray for Nuffles blessings, a virus, pitch invasion and a riot or two.
Anyway my tip is to have one player back to blitz a thrown goblin, and the rest concentrating on getting the ball in his half of the field. You need some luck for the goblin throw to fail, but you really cant effectively defend against it without a lot of players anyway. If your opponent is receiving with one or two turns left, then defend against the goblin throw.

Or maybe any team he played that was 73 TR points higher then him would be considerable better. Saying the team is broken is assuming a lot you don't know what Ogre roster his league is using how can you presume it is broken?Vero wrote:<offtopic>Run, run fast and far and pray for less than ten casualties.

So how many ST 5 players have to be on the field for the team to be broken?
Khmeri have 4 without a negatrait and can freeboot a 5th, I have never heard anyone call that team broken.
An Ogre team at that level I would guess would have 8 Ogres. After factoring in bonehead you have 6 or 7 ST 5 players a turn is that so much better then the 5 that Khmeri can field?

We're using 0-6 Gobos and no general skill access on Ogres.
My Handicap rolls (we're using 3-tier-system): I got one TRR, he lost 1D3 (=1!?!), his AG4 Gobo had greased shoes, and I got 2D6 winnings and FF-roll autosuccess.
Halftime ended 0-0, bc he nearly never failed his bonehead rolls and both crucial Blitzes with his Ogres on my Ball carrying Bull Centaurs were succesfull with my BC ending prone (usually several preparing Blocks sprint, sprint, Block without using RRs).
Second half I started with 10 players bc. I failed KO roll with a CD. He grinded down a 6 turn TD bc he always suceeded beating my CDs in 2D-Blocks. I failed three times in Blitzing his Gobo (either Break Tackle 1/RR/1 or Sprint1/Sure Feet/1).
SEcond Half 6th round I start with 8 players dues 2x Badly Hurt Hobos. He has Bad Kick, I give the Ball to my Break Tackle BC, punch a hole open, mark all his Ogres and break into his half with two BCs. He Break Tackles one of his Ogres, Sprint, Sprint, 2D-Block, success (what else). Ball falls into crowd, gets thrown in before his Gobo, pick up, 3x sprint, pass, catch, dodge, 2x Sprint, TD 2:0 in the 16th turn.
Rotten Luck, I never rolled so many 1s for Break Tackle and Sprint/Sure Feet and just managed to beat up the opponent in 20% of all 2D-Blocks...
