Newer chaos dwarf team player purchase help needed
I tried to search relavant key words to find something related but could not. But I apologize if I should have tried further. I'll get right to it. I have a 2 game chaos dwarf team with 2 bc's(both with break tackle), 5 blockers, and 4 hobbos(1 with sure hands) 3rr 9 ff and an apoth. I have 80k in the treasury and I am not certain as to what path would be best to take. I was thinking that I should buy 2 more hobbos to make sure I will have enough to field if I lose a couple during a match. This would ensure that I could maintain the ability to score td's throughout an entire match even with loses. However after talking on the fumbbl.com chat, I was told by several coaches that saving up to buy a big guy(troll or mino) would be better, and by a few more that buying another blocker then a big guy would be best. I still do not lean this way as I will be gambling that my hobbos will not suffer any injuries during the next couple matches. After that of course I will have to consider what to buy next. Big guy(mino or troll) or another blocker then the big guy. I appreciate you taking the time to read my post.

I agree to buy two more Hobgoblins. But it depends on your next opponent. If you are playing against dodge teams in the next games I would go for the 6 Blocker.
When you meet a bashing team with a good coach. The first thing he would try is to pull out your 4 Hobgoblins so that you should have some in the reserve.
I hope this confirms you in your oppinion!

I'm going to disagree with Dendron, but only because I am guessing he is giving advice for table-top and maybe didn't catch the FUMBBL part of your post.
In FUMBBL you always want to think long-term, and your two hobgoblin rationale is more short-term, next game thinking. The reason you got advice to buy a Big Guy is because if you are going to use one, you want to get him as soon as possible. Big Guys are pretty slow to develop and have a much harder time vs. more developed teams. So the question really becomes do you want a Big Guy on your team?
My advice is this: If you do want a Big Guy on your team at some point, then definitely follow their advice of saving your money so you can buy him after the next game. Theoretically you should always start with one, but only missing the first 3 games is no big deal and allowed you to do other things.
If you don't want a Minotaur, buy another blocker - for four reasons:
1.) Similar to a Big Guy, blockers will gain SPPs slower than Hobgoblins. So for a long term team like FUMBBL Ranked you want to start building them up ASAP.
2.) With 9AV and Thick Skull, one Blocker will actually address your roster concerns as well... not only will he be much harder to put off the pitch himself, but indirectly he will help keep your hobgoblins on the pitch by the additonal blocking he provides - and he is keeping a Hobgoblin safe on the bench, at least for a little while.
That will add to their longevity as a group as well.
3.) You really only need one hobgoblin to score as a running team (of course having only one is still a liability). You will still be able to field 3 and have 1 on the bench in case of injury, and you have an Apothecary in case of emergency.
4.) As cheap as Hobgoblins are, you can pretty much buy one after any game - you won't always have 80K laying around. In fact, with a 9FF you have a decent chance of being able able to buy a Minotaur AND a Hobgoblin after your next match if you save your money.
Another way of looking at it is this - you will be constantly replacing Hobgoblins throughout the life of your team. Get your durable guys now so they can start getting SPPs early. You already have 4 healthy Hobgoblins, no need to replace one yet.
But honestly, your team is well balanced enough that two Hobgoblins would be a fine decision as well. I don't think any of your three options is a bad choice.

I Would go for another Chaos Dwarf. With 12 Players and enough Dwarfs in the Team you are able to handle every other Team

If you take a Bigguy take the Troll. The Mino with "Wild Animal" is never a good choice. If you are Playing against an Agile team he will always ruin your game with is useless Blitzes.

Not considering possible deaths or majot injuries I'd go:
- Chaos Dwarf (having 6 will also protect your 4 Hobgoblins, thus they are enough for now)
- 1 Hobgoblin
- ReRoll
- Big Guy
- 2 Hobgoblins
- ReRoll
With the Big Guy, it depends on which WA FUMBBL uses. I'd go for a Mino with the new WA. The threat of a ST5 Frenzy blitz alone is worth the money. The Troll plays like an additional Chaos Dwarf with a little more strength. Nice, but not a big change ...

Well I decided to wait for the big guy and the next match I lost a chaos dwarf and both centaurs were missing. A rough match. But since I saved I managed to buy a troll and a hobbo to give me 10 players for the following match. Mino was 10k too much. Since then I have replaced the chaos dwarf and bought the next one. Although the troll has been smacked around a bit (missing and bh so far in two games), things are still looking up
Thanks for all your help. Buying a rr next.
