I aint seen a BOB over 51 SPPs before.....

What TR are you ? My best team is Orcs @ TR 248 & I think you would
destroy me based on your team list above. ( I do have a Troll on 73Spps though).

Whats happening when they beat you --- are you scoring early & not holding it up or are they getting through your cage? Are you using the
Blitzer with leap too often & falling over?

Do you chuck gobbos for TDs ? -- with only 1 linemen already specialised you dont have an obvious candidate for a leader re-roll that would help
you with the Troll.

The only other thing I would comment on is the lack of Guard & the fact that the 2 guys with Guard are MV 4 --- I would have taken Guard instead
of MB for the first 2 Blitzers.

Also, you have no Diving Tackle or Pass Block --- I would imagine the faster teams are giving you your main problems?

Half of all your team's improvements are either stat increases or doubles: is it a scratch build team? Have you and your mates just created your teams on a higher starting TR? That would explain something as tailored high TR Chaos or Elfs are quite competetive...

Indeed. I managed 3 doubles in 16 increases, and no stat increases. Are all the teams in your league this advanced?

I managed to get that BOB 71 SPP with 7 mvp`s and 18 injuries. And i started with TR 100, as we all do in my league. I rolled ol those +1something. My team value is 250. I do not use my goblins much. I use to play against fast and agile teams.

Hate to say it, but with that team, it is probably you or lots of bad luck.

I believe you should try to win the games not simply bash your opponents, or at least bash to win, not bash for just the sake of it. That is my answer. You are probably forgetting that there is a ball in the field, and in the spirit of bashing end up hitting whatever player is in the field not caring were the ball ends up. Keep faith and start playing to win not to kick the ..... out of your opponent.

I think that´s the big problem. For example, when I play against woodies I focus on slaying their treeman as a personal goal, and sometimes half of my team is around him. I agree i should remember there´s a ball in the field.

Well, then it's about making a choice between goals; Injure the Tree or Win the match. The very reason to hire a tree in the first place is that there are always coached who will dedicate a lot of players to taking it down.

personally, I don't like to play against people who make mauling my team their top priority. Maul my team in a "good", tactical way and you'll get my grudging respect, but if mauling my team is more important than ball control, (and ergo, winning) you'll probably go on my black list :-?

A big mistake. Feed the tree a line orc or BOB and concentrate on slaying the dangerous players (War Dancers & Catchers).

Lembocha, I'll reiterate what others said more or less clearly in this thread - you've had excellent stats increases and doubles there, and although you skill/traits choices are not perfect IMO, I think they're still good overall, even innovative (a leaping ag4 blitzer is quite inventive).

Unlike Sangraal, I believe that guard on BoBs is actually a reasonable choice, as those guys will often find themselves in melees, where guard is the most useful.

Anyway, if you manage to smash your opponents, it's probably because you hit hard. This is probably confirmed by your admission that you tend to focus too much on slaying treemen instead of stopping wood elves' ball-handling.
Viewing the skills you gave your orcs (in particular the first thrower), I have the impression you play an agile game on offense. Yet on defense you probably just smash straight the opponent (tell me if I'm wrong).

Personally, with orcs and chaos, I would focus on covering the pitch with a blanket of tackle zones, tackle zones which I would then re-position as my opponent moves the ball. Only blitz when you have the ball-carrier in range, or when pushing away your blitz target will allow you to put the ball-carrier in an even more uncomfortable position (say, by having the blitzer right in front of the ball-carrier...).

To summarize, think strategic tackle zones. Think slowing down the ball-carrier and the other players he may give the ball to... All your hits must be focused on increasing the pressure on the opponent and forcing him take big risks where the ball is involved.

Guard is good on BoBs, & would be my first choice for a 2nd skill on them.

Just on the Treeman --- even with Orcs, I completley ignore them - with MV2 they arent going anywhere fast & with AV10 you have to either get lucky or throw a large amount of Blocks at them. It is (IMO) a waste of time & resources (that is of course assuming that the tree shows up for the first half).

Doing this may force the cage over to one side -- this is no real problem.

AV 8 Big Guys are squishy & I go after them early in the game --- I've ignored Trolls before, but Ogres are a bit dangerous to leave alone.

Another thing, if you get ahead by a TD or more & you get the ball (either via kickoff or taking it off him) -- forget the cage, just score ASAP.
My first 10 games with my first Orc team were all wins either 1-0 or 2-1,
lately I have been managing to win 3-0, 3-1 etc etc --- with my second orc team (7 games) I have won 2 games 4-0 (lost a few 1-3 also).

You should be able to score more Tds with all those +1MV Blitzers.

feed the tree a lone orc .. that cracked me up ..

I do think your main 'prblem' lies there, the rest of the team is waay more important and do not for ge the ball. Once you have that safe you can still beat the crap out of his team ...
