Not all the dwarves will have tackle, because every dwarf team is going to have Blitzers, Troll Slayers, and Runners.

Try to keep your important dodgers away from the Long beards, and that's made a bit easier by the fact that you have an extra 2 squares of movement on them.

Also remember that even though you won't be able to use dodge to re-roll moves out of the Tackler's TZs, you will still be able to use a TRR if need be, and you should have plenty of those since they're cheap.

Of course, that's all theoretical, since I've never played Amazons, and I've yet to play a game against Dwarves. ;)

Play strong side against the dwarves to score. On defense I'd grind the cage down by standing one square off. Set up so your blitzers are spaced out with one person to allow assists. Let the blitzers knock them around and don't follow your hits up.

Good luck.

tackle can be a real nightmare....

it is good advice that not all his players will have tackle tho, so you need to be patient and just pick your spots...if you can open up smaller gaps then you should flood them - of course, this is the lizardman in me so...

once you get a player behind his lines make sure you arent in blitz range, and if you cant get out of it use gfi's to make it as difficult for him to get you as possible.

against slow teams a rather nifty trick is to get a player in, or around, the end zone, and lob the ball into an empty square in the vicinity AT THE END OF YOUR TURN... why? well, its funny theirs no reason why you shudnt pass to the player but wheres the "haha im fast youre slow" taunt in that?

there is that SPP tho...

hmmmmmmmmm :-?

Go shave beardy boy. Passing to empty squares shouldn't be allowed.

Anyway, the guy we need on this one is Chet. Being a dwarf coach I'm not about to help you ;)

Your Cuties will be shaved!

Dear Amazon-Coach!

Forget about winning this match. His longbeards will shave your ladies as they deserve it ;-)

The best idea to get away unharmed would be to give up and go home... ;-))) :puke:

P.S. I'm allowed to write this, because I'm his opponent...

I play Amazons. I also play Dark Elves. :) I'd take a page out of their playbook. Put the minimum of 3 'lambs to the slaughter' on the line of scrimmage. On offense, run the sidelines with as many players as possible, and on D, stay away a square and try to slow their advance. And pick your hits wisely...

beardy? moi?

i dont think so, i was actually joking. but while we're on the subject why shudnt you be allowed to throw to empty squares? it seems a perfectly valid appraoch to me, like a through ball or something.

anyway, excuse me while i turn my auto-flame back on...

But it is, and it's always been. Besides, it was the dwarf coach's fault if he didn't keep a player in deep cover.

It's pretty simple:

1. Live on 2-die blocks. Don't throw 1-dies unless you're picking on a Runner with one of your Blitzers.
2. When you need to dodge a player away for a 2-die block elsewhere, find Amazons who are next to non-Tacklers.
3. Pick on the Runners and the Slayers. They have AV8, they're easier to dismiss.
4. Save TRRs for dodges when the only players left are near Tacklers.
5. Don't be afraid NOT to dodge somewhere.
6. Don't follow up unless it takes you away from a standing Dwarf next to a prone Dwarf.

Oh, and getting lucky never hurts. Seems to be my short suit, however.

I have done a draw

1 - 1 TD's
1 - 1 Cas

I think that's pretty good.
