Tough game coming up, need some tactics
Hey everyone,
Well, for those of you that read my weekly updates, you'll notice that my new team, the Evil Gits, won their first game againt a chaos team. Good for me.
Problem is, I'm now missing 4 players and have to face the top team in the league, an orc team.
I'm going to be fielding 3 gutter runners, 1 storm vermin, 3 linerats.
My question to you guys, how do I survive this game? I'm not asking for a win, just to be able to have some players left at the end of the game.

Amadoris... I'm not a math wizard, so the numbers might be slightly of, but you might get the idea.
Let's assume that you have enough of your team there, so your foul will be directly on injury. With a dirty player, you need to roll 8+ to get him out for good, so chances for that is a bit below average = 41.6%
Chances your fouling player get sent of the pitch after the second foul and every foul thereafter untill your head coach get's sent out. = 41.6% (50% = 41.6% accounting for the 1/6 "Arguing the call").
Fouling should be a tactical decision, to get "THAT" player of the field, since the chances of YOU going is greater than him going in the long run, and besides that, fouling the other guys team into oblivion makes the game REAL fun for him, and he will DEFINATLY play you again.
Besides, making it an even deal when fouling orc's with skaven, require 8 players (one with DP) to make it an even deal, and even Orc's fouling skaven requires 6 players (one with DP).
If you where making these statements as a joke, consider me fooled
, if you mean't them, consider yourself a joke.

Well, I played my game last night and...
I got killed. sigh.
The game ended 2-1 and 4-0 in casulties. 2 badly hurt, 1 seriously hurt, and one dead. I ended the game with no available players, everyone one either knocked out or injured.
It might have been a different game, but my opponent was uber-lucky on his injury rolls. The game had 8 armor cracks, 1 stunned, 3 knocked out, and 4 injuries. And to add insult to punishment, I failed my apo check on the death.
oh well, I made enough to afford another gutter runner and I'll only be missing 2 players for a full lineup next game.
Thank god it's against a human team.

Actually I would do the same thing as Amadoris. Your assertion of 8+ is with a dp is false, even stunning the guy can be enough, let alone ko him. You also forget that most likely you'll hit some cas too, making those extra fouling cas extra worth it. In this case fouling is the most tactical decision: you have the numeric advantage, make it work! And if you bring down their numbers by fouling it makes it easier for the rest of your team to beat his team up and decreases the chances of taking injuries yourself.Lamoron wrote:Amadoris... The guys in my league wouldn't mind me using this tactic, it certainly isn't 'unfair'. It's just a game. If you can't stand the heat...

Wich does not put him out for good... stunning equals one idle round, and difficulties in the second. KO equals being out to the next TD. Being banned by the Ref. equals being out from the rest of the game.Your assertion of 8+ is with a dp is false, even stunning the guy can be enough, let alone ko him.
Sure stunning a guy can be enough, but then again it becomes a tactical instrument, to stun a potential threat to your ballkeaper, if you fouled a guy in the other end of the field, you wouldn't be happy with just a stun.
And again, this requires enormous amounts of players to do, with only 3 players, the chances of you getting expelled is greater than the chance to injure him (34.6% against AV7, 24.3% against AV9), and even knocking him out or worse, is only 60%/42% to your 50% to be expelled.
I didn't say I'd whine and call you names, I like fouling a lot myself, I just said, that doing it every single round might not get you a lot of games. I had to stop my reckless fouling in my tabletop games, because people where getting sick of my lone Skellie-DP's score.
1. Minotaur Dead
2. Deeproot Strongbranch SI
3. Ratogre SI - Niggling
4. Beast of Nurgle SI - Niggling
5. Ratogre SI - Niggling
and a whole lot of Badly hurt Big Guys alongside a few ordinary position players... fouling is a great weapon, but reckless fouling on a AV9 team is not very wise, and against AV7 teams, why not go for the SPP in casualties instead if you can?
Oh well, that's just my take on it, if fouling 16 times a game suits you and your mates, peace be with it.
