why take the less effective big guy, only because of 10,000 gold??
I would say why take the less effective and pay 10000 more?
explain me the diffrence between troll w. guard and a mino w. guard?
can the troll still use guard when he´s stupid??
Troll is better in that role because:
1) he's way tougher
2) doesn't have frenzy, so if he does make a block it doesn't put him out of position, you want that guard where it's needed, not wandering off because of frenzy
3) troll moves at 2+, mino at 4+, ok mino doesn't lose its TZ but the only more or less reliable way to move it (guard needs to be positioned right or is totally useless) is to blitz with it, and then you're throwing dice with no re-roll as backup.
frenzy works without doing a blitz - your opponent can´t igonore it.
I can't count the number of times I've seen a rat ogre or mino go on its face and be fouled off next turn. Frenzy + no block + no reroll + av 8 = big liability. Skaven need their rat ogre, cd's don't need their mino.
bulls are really nice i like ém when they have break tackle - or else
they are just faster black orks.
i put a zombi on your bull - try the dodge :D
I put a zombie on your mino, same thing, better chance of turnover. :D
to open the defence by a blitz i prefer 3 dice, mighty blow, frenzy,
instead of a 2 dice block.
Sure that's nice but you don't need it, a troll with cd's next to it surrounding a cage is pretty effective as well.
i prefer 3 blitzer instead of only two... one bull for each widezone
and the mino for the center, or for deep defence when playing against
fast teams...
Your choice of course.

very good argues/explained

one thing you missunderstood. frenzy works without doing any action,
just put him on the field and that´s it.

i think it´s not really wrong or right if you play the troll or the mino,
as long as you know what strategies/options you have with the
different setup´s.

i played the cd´s exactly like you said at the DB05 - and it worked well!!

now i´m really thinking about the other option, cause Grotemuis
played the mino-thing against me, and he ripped my ass off....
he used the mino in a very effective way - ouch,ouch..

allways looking for new challenges.

I’m taking CD’s to a 110 tourney this weekend and I will be taking:

1 Mino 110
6 CD’s 420
1 Bull 130
5 Hobos 200
3 RR 210
FF 3

The main reason I took the mino over 2 bulls or a troll is his Horns. With a well placed assist it’s a 3 dice block against lineman, with a frenzy follow up and a two dice blitz against most other big guys.

6 cds is reliable enough and 5 hobos give enough reserves to stick the boot in and 3 re rolls will make up for the lack ball handling skills.

Having said all that, please bear in mind that I am crap!
