Wish me luck people
Wish me luck people....
That famed Necro team I have bragged about is about to play in its final game.
It is at TR209, and doesn't even deserve that much. They have 9 players on the team, with only 2 Flesh Golems, 1 Werewolf (future Star in our league), 1 Ghoul (rookie), and 1 Wight(awesome player).
Now this team is playing an Orc team with 7 ST4+ players on the team. A full roster, and over a 310 Team Rating. They are ranked #2 in the league and I am ranked 7th(of course a lot of ppl droped out or I would be 11th or 12th.) Point of this topic is 2 things
1) To recieve help in beating this guy
2) To recieve all prayers that my precious werewolf doesn't die. (He is argueably the best player our league has ever seen)
I am going to hire 2 Star players for the game, and hire a wight giving me a total of 12 men. Just anyway I can beat this guy?

I'd never hire a wight in that situation. Three zombies would be a lot better - you really want 14 players, or even more if possible. They're needed to suck up injuries and to foul. As long as you can field 11 players and your were, you have a chance.

TR310 and 16 players, that means he'll never have his full TR on the pitch. You will get close to that. You get 4 handicap rolls + one of your choice. If he has a lot of niggled players with SPP choose virus. It will seriously harm him. You'll loose if you turn the match into a blocking war. If you get illegal drugs, use it to boost the ghoul's AG. Iron Man on your werewolf is really useful if you're afraid of losing him. Doom & Gloom is also likely to be a good one, with half his normal re-rolls he'll find his usual tactics won't work. So for your pick consider:
Virus
Doom & Gloom
Iron Man
Smelling Salts
Depending on what your opponent's team actually looks like. In case he has only a few players with a lot of SPP I am the greatest may also work a treat.
Bribe the ref will allow you to foul with your werewolf until the first penalty call.
Battle the ST4 guys tying them up with rookie zombies (or zombies with block). With regenerate this is a risk worth taking, anything's better than those guys getting near your wolf or ghoul. Also use your zombies to foul the heck out of him. This is more easily said than done since you'll have some trouble knocking him down.
Basically try to take as much of his TR off the pitch as possible. If you have zombies with block, use them to block his high SPP players on a 2dice his choice, but always keep a TZ on those guys (the odds of your zombies going down are slightly smaller if you block him rather than him blocking you). Don't forget to raise the dead.
Good luck, you'll need it.
No praying for your werewolf. It's unsportsman-like not to wish for every wolf or gutter runner to die asap. Besides, I'm an atheist.

You please Him most by sacrificing your weres. I do, on a regular basis, and it seems to work by letting me clear the pitch of pesky Norse (at the slight cost of a dead Flesh Golem and a dead Werewolf)Bizzy wrote:Thanks for the advice on things, and lol about the praying. We can always try to please Nuffle so he lives
