HU vs. Nurgle KO-Match, how to spend my money...

It's a 16 Team KO-Tournament, round one. If i win my next opponent will likely be Ogre or Vampire. He'll either save his money for a third Rotter or hire Lord Borak (thats what i'd do). As I see it, i got those choices (or a combination of them):

1: Play with 10 Players, save my money, give away one handicap and pray
2: Retire #9 and burn 10k to get rid of the handicap
3: Hire a wizard
4: Freeboot 1 or 2 Linos
5: Hire Zug, Zara, Griff, Luthor or Morg
6: Buy a RR to kill off some TR
7: Buy a Lino/Thrower/Catcher/Rookie Ogre

His weakness is the Lack of Block/Tackle having only 2 RR and 5 FF, my weakness are those 2 MNG and the handicap. Up to now i favor getting rid of the handicap and hireing Luthor or Zara to capitalize on his lack of tackle. That would leave me with 11 players and 60/80k Gold. What do u think? Any help is appreciated.

At a glance, i would probably get me a rookie Ogre and then freeboot a lineman. Ogre not only takes you up to 11 men, also gives you something to pit against his Beast who will be tentacling your players like crazy. The freebooter is up to you. Your team roster looks pretty healthy for the next game so i wouldnt bother firing any one.

As far as avoiding the handicap i think this will do more harm than good to your team. Yes you could get a crappy one like Morleys, but then you could get bad press or iron man (which i would gladly give up to have a higher TR than my opponent).

well, but if i get morleys or wasnt me on the ogre i'm pretty much screwed....

Im not going to calcuate the chances of that, but luck will always be a factor. What if It Wasnt Me hits your star player, y'know it could happen any way. You're going to need a decent high st player at some point. May was well grab him now.

I'd get the ogre as well. At least for the purpose of winning the next match that would be optimal.
Then you're faster, far better at handling the ball, and can nullify his beast with the ogre.
You'll be slightly weaker, but your superior access to block as well as the Guard and dauntless players should compensate fairly easily.
Oh, and you have a blodge catcher he'll have a hard time with.

Get yourself a Ogre an let him dance with beast for whole game - if he want to get 2d against him he will need assist so you will have some free space to run around... and knock out beastman with claws asap by any means so that your catchers dont get ripped apart...

Already finished the group stage, this'll be the 1/8 Final. Guess it'll be played on the weekend, as my opponent is american and i'm european.

We made it, beating those eer... things 2:1, dishing out 2 cas, not receiving a single. Next round opponent is http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team& ... _id=204843 . Should be beatable, but will be a close match. This time i'm going to save my money as i'll most probably face Necros in the semifinals and want to hire Zara then.

PS: I went with the rookie Ogre and he did a great job binding some Beastmen and causing a cas. He didnt spend his money at all, dont ask me why though...
