Help with HE team

Post by Aenor »

Could somebody give some instructions on how to beat the hell out of Chaos,Orc,Human and undead teams with High Elves. And what would be the best tactics against these teams.

I have won most of the matches but only with 1 or 2(all together) touchdowns and I have not yet managed to score a single touchback.

And because Im the weakest team I have a lot of casualties. This doesnt mean that there are a lot of dead players but usually I end up playing the second half one or two players short.

I try to keep my players so that theres only one block in a turn against me. This usually works but since two of these teams have minotaurs one of them has mummies and one has black orc blockers these usually wreck a havock in the lines of my noble elves.

I have 10 linemen and one Dragon warrior now and I allways pass the ball at the end of my turn to get the valuable star player points. The strategy I mostly use is to punch several holes in the defence of my opponent and get 2-4 of my players on the opponenst side of the field. I still have to amaze how can you get 3 or 4 touchhdowns in a game.

Any help would be appreciated.

Having not played as elves, i am normally an undead player, the only advice i can give you is to try and stay away. You can usually dodge away faily well, mummys and black orcs aren't very fast so try and make them have to use a gfi to get the blitz in. This will also stretch the team about if they insist on doing this. then you can sneak some players through to their back field. Don't pass to them when they have just moved through they will usually get blitzed, pass on your next turn when they can then move away, prefably to score. This can run the risk of them having to catch in tackle zones, so if you can get 2 or 3 players through your more likly to have a better choice on who to throw to.

Lastly don't try and beat up bashing teams like orcs choas and undead, they are better at it and will beat you up. Minimize your casualties and maximze your speed and agility to get more touchdowns.

Dont try to beat them up, Out score them
It should take you 2 turns to get a td
bashy teams score back in 3 to 4 maybe.
On offence try flooding a widezone, On turn 1 punch the hole flood it with players in a loose cage get the ball to the dragon and he runs in.In the following turn you should get the td.
I hope you have plenty of re rolls. Use them too dodge away, If you can, leave your opponent with a blitz as his only block in a turn.
And Get used to playing with 10 players or less, when you can win that way your doing good,(on defence leave a player in your oppos half,so if you get the ball you dump it out to him and run like crazy)

Get kick on one of your lineman. It is important to attack the ball handler before the cage is formed. With kick and a bit of luck your opponent will not have time to protect the ball handler before your players are all over him.

If the cage is formed, try to attack it from behind with at least 3-4 players. If he stays to block you he does not move forward. If he tries to move on he is more vulnerable. Also, it puts additional pressure on him and it might force him to make a faster TD and not wait until his last turn. Of course you will then have time to score again.

Good luck

Well, I don't have much time, but to make a brief note I'd say be mobile, surround him, keep clear of his guys by dodging and try to close the passing lanes the Humans might use.
Don't get bogged down, but use your AG and mobility to dodge out and lend the vital assists that will keep your players safe. By safe I mean limiting him to just one block per turn... eg his blitz. This should increase survivability enourmously, but be prepared for those double ones that will come.
Alternate you LineElves between block and dodge. Players with dodge should always get block second to further keep them on their feet while players starting with dodge will be needing other secondary skills to keep them on their feet.
