help me! tactics for amazons!

Hello. I am going to be playing amazons in a tournament now for the first time ever. And as i stare at the team list i fail to see anything good about this team whatsoever. Especially now that their team re-rolls got more expensive in the new rules. The "edge" of everybody having dodge is taken out by the fact that they're all slow as hell and has low armour wich makes them just as "poundable" as goblins... And they can't have any big guys! NO FAIR!!
I really need some pointers for this, otherwise my little amazons will be both smashed and outrun since we have both Skaven (good luck in catching them) and Dwarfs (oh, everyone has tackle! horray!!) in the league. I should mention that we don't use starplayers, we only use rookie big guys. And our house rules uses a "mixed team" thingie... so i can have two allies... but only from norse and human. So i am thinking a human blitzer (for speed and armour) and one of those new norse Ulfwerener (for strenght).

Never liked or played much with allies, so I ll concentrate on a pure amazon team and its strengths.

1) You are not slow, you are average. Slow is 5 and less. Rule of Thumb: If you can cross the enemy half in 2 turns with 1 GFI, you can reliably 2-turn-score, and thus can play all the plays that "faster" teams can too.

2) Dodge is big. Even against Dwarves, which really are your natural enemy, you will use it, and your Blitzers are very, very resistant to being blocked right away. Also, it opens up a reliable "deny blocks" tactic against Khemri, Chaos and such, which is something that, for example, Norse dont have.

3) AV 7 is not much, but with Blodgers its sufficient most of the time. Also, you are not Stunty, so Goblins are leagues worse than your players. The relatively low cost of Linewomen makes for expendable losses, meaning its hard to really cripple an amazon team in one game later on, whereas wood elves can potentially go from best to worst team in a league based on 2 casualties (wardancers)

4) Tactics:
Passing game works. Get the ball, put it in a semi-cage (only has to allow for one round of sending any catchers out, pass, form up on the new ballcarrier, or just run for it if your enemy has no defense. I have often seen a double-pass game with amazons, meaning first pass is from deep in her own field near the LoS, next round its a short run, then a pass just in front of her enemies Endzone. With Dodge, you can get there rather easily.
Running game doesnt work THAT good, but against non-tacklers, it can. Use dodge to maneuvre around whoever stands in your way, and make certain there are ALWAYS at least 2 players in a potential TD position before you make the run for the endzone.

Bashing game: Once you have developed a little, Amazons can be a pretty good bashing team. Blodge everywhere, and plenty of nice skills since you dont have to waste them on Dodge, makes for a fearsome bashing team, even given STR 3.

IMO Amazons are among the strongest teams in a league after roundabout 8 games of decent TDs and SPP, since you quickly get a large number of skills in the team.

PS: Take the Ulfwerener if you want to play Bashing game, otherwise Human Blitzer or nothing.
