Help for a hopeless amateur chaos team

Post by Canbacon »

I'm playing a rookie chaos team in an experienced league.
My team looks like this after one lost game:

1 Troll
3 Chaos Warriors
7 Beastmen

1 RR
8 FF

No progression in regards to skills yet.

My opponent plays Norse, has 15 players on the roster, and a lot of progression of skills. Main threat are about 5 players with gaurd and catchers/blitzers with 7 MA. Oh yeah, he also has 5 RR's...

I know that my starting team could have been better and that Ueberteams
with low RR aren't what you should normaly start with, but....

So, any good tactics ideas? I found that the weak AV isn't much of a handicap, in my last game against orcs with 2 goblins I blocked the damn
small greenies 5 times without knocking them out of the game. So if you can't remove them from play, it doesn't look like you can win.

Hmm, As you only have one reroll use the Troll as much as you possilby can, him not being able to access TRRS isn't a factor without them. With no other skills the mighty blow is your best assest against the Norse even blitz with him if you have to. I would be tempted to use your CWs as support to the big greenie on a slow and steady march down the field. Use your beastmen to get the ball to one of your CWs and use him score. Cage up the middle and plan your blitz to nail a str 3 guarder every time if you can. Take advantage of 2 dice your choice as often as possible. Save the Reroll for ball moving.

On D use a couple of your beastmen to hunt the ball and his thrower, and your CWs and Troll to do damage to his line, leave a couple beastmen back to counter his 7 move players. Expect a wall up the sidelines rather than a cage, as he can score in two turns with a 7 mover fairly easily.

Dont expect to win, but play to. With five guys with guard he is going to probably out muscle you when he wants to, so don't be shocked if you are on your but alot. Don't leave anyone near the sidelines, as his blitzers will take you out quick.

This is just what I would do in your situation. Sorry if it is more simplified or simple than what you were looking for.

Hope for a good handicap rolls - and keep on hitting them. Your high S should help out and always blitz with the Beasties.

You don't have inferior pace and decent armour so don't be afraid to slug it out.
