if you can hand out skills after every game, witch elves are definitely the way to go. once you get them block, they're extremely useful. more so than blitzers even.

i'd do tv110 tourney dark elves thusly:

2 witches 220
3 blitzers 300
1 runner 8
5 line elf 350
3 rr 150

looks like a tough roster to me...for skills i'd go block on witch elves, then sure hands on the runner for the first 3, then kick on a line elf, depending on how many games are involved.

After winning Brassbowl last weekend I am even more convinced that my starting roster is the best option.

1 Witch Elf
4 Blitzers
1 Runner
5 Linemen
3 Rerolls
1 FF

I gave dodge as a first skill whenever I had the chance.

After game 1: Dodge on two Blitzers (lucky!!)
After game 2: Dodge on a Lineman, Sidestep on a blodge Blitzer
After game 3: Dodge on a Lineman, Guard on a Lineman (one skill as if you rolled a double)
After game 4: Dodge on a Lineman, Dodge on the Runner

My plan was always the same: force my opponent to the sideline and use Frenzy and pushbacks to make as many crowd pushes as possible. I made at least 25 crowd pushes in those 5 games.

While I can't argue with your results, I still feel compelled to say that had it been me, I would have found time somewhere in that dodge-fest of yours to give block to the witch elf, if indeed your strategy was centered around frenzying people out of bounds.

Heh, you were not allowed to allocate the skills yourself.

After each round two players (decided at random) received a skill. No skills landed on my Witch elf.
