To induce or not to induce...

Post by DamianTheLost »

Hey guys!

Sunday I'm playing the league semifinal against a very experienced orc coach.

My team is now:
2x fleshies both block
1x wolf with blodge, side step (the other was Si'ed last game and is missing out)
2x wights one with block, guard; the other with blodge, tackle
2X ghouls one blodge, side step; the other blodge, sure hands
6x Zombies, only one has skilled up and he's ST4, Av9, Fan Favorite (a reward from a cup)
3xRR
11 FF
1AC
1CL
= TV 157

His team is:
Troll with guard, -AV
4x BoB 3 with block
Blitzer with +ag
blitzer with guard, tackle
Blitzer with wrestle, strip ball
Blitzer
2x Trowers one with +ST; the other kick return
2x linos one with +MV
3x RR
7x FF
1 Apo
= TV 161

Since my wolf is missing out I guess I've lost one of my main advantages against orcs, namely speed. I'm expected a lot of bashing so I'm wondering if I should cut down a zombie from the ranks and induce an Igor to help keeping my one wolf on the pitch or maybe two BW babes? On the other hand this will only leave me with 12 able players, and although he hasn't musch MB he will do his best to knock my boys straight out.

Should i attempt to play a fast offence, scoring in two or three turns and then let him make his drive slowly or? I think orcs are really hard to play against with necros anyway, so please help....

I might be tempted to fire an AC or a CL (your call) and induce one bloodweiser babe. You have a large advantage in FF anyway so I don't think you need it for fame.

This leaves you with 13 players, 11 of whom regenerate and a +1 to any KO recovery rolls.

Your target players has to be his Guard/Tackle Blitzer. His only mobile Guard and his only Tackle to Deal with your 4 Blodgers.
Take him out and life will be a lot easier.

Technically, you can only hire/fire players/staff during step 2 of the Post-Match Sequence.

There is no official way to retire a player during the Pre-Match sequence.

Unless your league has allowed this as a house rule, you could not drop the Player to get an inducement.

Well this is not an issue in our league. U can add or remove players from the roster as u please before the next match, otherwise u would have been right...

Anyway thx for ur advice. I ended up taking a BW babe and didn't have to fire any staff at all, though +3 didn't help me at all on my knock-outs. The game ended 2-1 but was close to a 3-0 in my favor. The cas rating was 2-2 and the crowd made a kill for me on his ST4 thrower, but he got my ST4 wolf in our last game so I guess it settled the score ;-)
