Baah, what do you know about Strength 4 Pro Elf catchers? Your speciality is Strength4 Pro Elf Blitzers... And I would consider Mighty Blow on a Doubles Roll as well, but Juggernaught is probably the best choice.
@ Matt-
I would go with Dodge on a normal roll, and is the +1 AV a real number, or do Pro Elf catchers start with that and my memory is off?
My experiences with Leap lead me to believe that it is a skill best used as a threat, but an implied threat, not an often used one. It is an especially poor choice on an AG 4 player who is well developed, especially without dodge, as he will end up in a bad position if he fails his leap roll, and will more often than not need to make a dodge after leaping.
The worst thing you could do with Mr. 4 Strength is leave him on the ground to get gang fouled, and AG4 leap with no Dodge is a great way to make that happen!
Conversely, almost the same threat can be had if one of your linemen, or other catchers, or blitzers picks up leap on a first or second advance! Same threat, and if you need to utilize the piece to leap, he is more expendable if he fails.
As you said, Strip Ball is worthless in a Sure Hands heavy league- but only you know how often the players in your league end up with the ball in the hands of the non-optimal ball carrier.
falconeyed wrote:Dodge then Strip Ball. Make him your ball winner, then use the blitzers to collect and out the ball. ST4 makes him your primary ball winner.
Or give him dodge sidestep and give your opponent absolute fits.
