World Cup Skillfest -What to do with necros..?

Post by Leipziger »

I'm taking necros to the World Cup with this line-up:

2 Werewolves - 240 (8,3,3,8 )
2 Ghouls - 140 (7,3,3,7)
Flesh Golem - 110 (4,4,2,9 )
2 Wights - 180 (6,3,3,8 )
5 Zombies - 200 (4,3,2,8 )
3 Rerolls - 210
FF 2

With the abundance of skills available to give to players, I am little stuck as to what to give. My current thoughts are:

Game 1,2:Werewolves with BLOCK

Game 3,4:Ghouls with BLOCK

Game 5: Wight with TACKLE

Game 6: FGolem with BLOCK and Wight with TACKLE or just give M BLOW to a Wolf

Game 7: Zombie with KICK

Game 8: Zombie with BLOCK

What do you think?

First I would go without Fan Factor and split between Cheerleader and Ass. Coaches.

Block on both wolves is fine, but I would give Guard to at least one Whight, the other Frenzy or Tackle.
Then Guard on a Flesh Golem, with Stand Firm always a nice combination.
Block on one Ghoul and maybe considering Sure Hands on the other.
I lost some games due to failed pick up rolls while burning my expensive rerolls. But 2 blodge Ghouls are not that bad either :)
Kick can be a game winner,so I would go that route too.

Gaurd on at least one Wight to add support where needed.

Block the wolfs and the ghouls

Guard/block on the golem

Guard x 2 on the wights

block on the zombies

Basic but effective

Just attended a tournament using the NAF World Cup rules, but shortened to 6 games due to two days (Sa/Su).
I fielded Necros with the same Setup Leipziger proposed, but with one Ass. Coach and one Cheerleader.
Skills were Block on both Werewolves, Guard on both Wights and the Flesh Golem, Block on both Ghouls and Guard on two Zombies.
I finished 5/1/0 taking home the victory with my team "Hessen" (4 players).
Opponents fielded 2x Wood Elves, Norse, Chaos Dwarves, Orcs and Skaven.
Maybe I would change one Guard Zombie to another with Block, but 5 times Guard in this setup worked great.
Just wanted to share my thoughts :)
