Methinks that you're suffering a bit too much. Have you read the various bibles? Check out the GW site, especially The Art of Blocking, Getting the Boot In and the Orc Playbook. They're all a bit behind the times, but the advice is still sound.

Yeah, ive read those guide extensively, and all of the others as well. I think i must suffer from frency though becuase as soon as the game starts all i want to do is batter my opposition into the dirt, and tend to forgot things like the ball and getting touchdowns.

The Dwarf coach I played in the last game wrote this write up of the match if anyone is interested.

Im Stuart BTW

--------------
Game Number 4 for the Pliff Punishers:

I was playing against Stuart's Orcs. Not a match I was particularly looking forward to because Orcses have good armour and higher strength players (Blorcs) so my usual hitting game would need to actually involve the ball too, if I didn't want to lose.

We matched each other at the gate (17,000 fans each!) but my hefty team rating meant that Stuart had sufficient funds to induce a Blorc Blocker with Guard. He turned out to be a real pain in the backside too! Stuart also had 2 Orc linemen as journeymen as he was two players short. I had my usual team of 12 Dwarfs.

Stuart received first, and set about beating my front line down with Blorcs. Alas, one naughty foul later, a Longbeard was Stunned and the offending Blorc was sent off. In my first turn, the Dwarfs hit back and injured an Orc off the pitch, which swayed things in my favour. Foolishly, I then fouled and got a Longbeard sent off!

The first half dissolved into ruck which the Orcs got the worst from with the numbers going against them, and an Orc Blitzer eventually made a break for it with the ball. Fukki Nutsson the Slayer Blitzed him and the ball was catapulted by the fans into my endzone. For the final few turns of the first half, the ball was totally ignored in favour of a big ol' fist fight on the line of Scrimmage.

The second half began with Stuart's team of 8 Orcs kicking to a team of 11 Dwarfs. Once again, a predictable ruck broke out in the middle of the pitch whilst my Runners passed the ball back and forth to each other deep in my half. Hmmm. I wonder why they were doing that.

In turn 5, I made my bid to score, only to fumble a pointless pass between Runners and see the ball bounce loose. A lone Orc Blitzer ran in and battered a Runner down, but once again a Slayer came steaming in and knocked him out the way. The Runners then retrieved the ball and dashed to the endzone, scoring in turn 8 and ending the match 1-0.

Full credit to Stuart who played well and survived with a team who were duffed in from the start; He still made a full game of it. I have the upmost respect for his Goblin who was repeatedly hit down and stunned too many times to count.

My winnings were a titanic 70K, allowing me to make my second purchase of the league. A Deathroller. Whoop!

Two players skilled up too; a Runner got a double and thus took Dodge (oddly enough, exactly like my other Runner!) and a Longbeard threw an 11, but ignored the AG increase in favour of Guard.

I lamely threw a 7 on three dice, so my Fan Factor stayed the same. My Team Rating is now a revolting 149. Ouch.
