The best tournament team at 1.1K

Post by Teluriel »

Title says it all...
Which team do you think is best for you personally and has the most aces up his sleeve to win a tournament?

Any team I'm not coaching.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

I'd say Orcs are probably the best all-rounders for a tournament, although it really depends on the exact format of the tournament. It depends more on player skill and luck than on the specific team, though.

Looking forward to the World Cup, and the skill progression there, a possible 1.1m Amazon team, fielding 11 blodgers and other skills, and reserve blodgers also toward the closing stages, looks pretty awesome....

Winning is nice, BUT play a team you like, either becuse of the fluff or the way the team plays.

Don't just pick a team that will be the tournaments "best" team.

Pro Elves!

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

I don't want any advice on which team I should play; i'm just asking which team you think is best...

Statistically i can use Ian's website and see which teams are doing best...

Very well, to make this a bit more concrete:

1.1K
1 skill per match at your choice

1.1K
2 random skills after each match

Probably Orcs - their players are very resilient, so you'll keep them through the whole tourney, and you can use the free skills to boost up your positionals with Block and other handy skills. Most other teams will have a hard time keeping up, except maybe Dwarfs and Chaos Dwarfs.

This is tougher, but I'm tempted to say Dwarfs. Every one of their players is good without skills, and gets even better with normal skill advances. They won't be an exciting team to play, but with lots of Guard and Mighty Blow they'll be able to beat the tar out of pretty much anyone.
