I would go as well with the bribe and maybe Flint Churnblade. A Chainsaw can always help you out against high AV and high ST

If you play as the rules says: No stars in semi or finals.

Take 2 bribes! Maybe then you can have the roller for a whole match. If not you can always have a second when you start fouling.

I wound up losing 2-1, due to a dodgy dice roll on turn 3 of the second half.

Used my inducements on 2 bribes, giving me 3 drives with my deathroller seemed a pretty good choice.

Won the toss and elected to kick. My opponent ran the ball in in 2 turns, pretty much what I was after. I took the rest of the half to score, my mobility hampered after my best runner got pushed into the crowd, missing the rest of the game.

Nothing of note happened in the remaining turns of the second half, just lots of blocking, and a troll failing to throw a goblin.

Second half I get the ball deep in my half, spend some time getting it to relative safety, ie, trying to cage it up.

Then I roll a skull in the worst possible place. Orcs swamp my ball carrier, and he goes down. I managed to kill the thrower that threw the pass, but it's cold comfort, given that I really rated my team against all the others I could have played in the finals. Norse were already in at this point, and I honestly rate myself against both the team and the coach.

There's always next season though, and with my team getting another guy with guard, I feel much better about my chances.

Thanks for the advice, both in this thread and the others I've posted over the course of the season, it's been most helpful.

The rules agree 100%, no stars or mercs (although who knows if there are special house rules in effect?). The confusion is that on page 30 it says inducements are OK, just no stars and no mercs (cards, babe, training, etc) but on page 31, it says no inducements at all!

Page 31 is confirmed to be the typo (as evidenced by your link!)
