It may sound obvious, but the reaspon that your opponent is getting more casualties against you is most likely because he is blocking you more often.

Good blocking teams, like dwarves can get you on the defensive by starting off with one 2D block and then making a chain of assits down the line. Once all your players (or almost all of them) are down, then you are going to be spending the next turn standing up, and then they do it all again.

Fast teams can do the same kind of thing, by being more selective about their strikes and being the ones to pick the fights and control where the blocking is being done. The end result is the same as above.

Once you get casualtied, and they have the numbers advantage over you, then it can be a slippery slope, you are scrambling to stay aluve while they swamp you with more players and more blocks.

Best advice has already been given above. Avoid going down by doing risky moves, and have more block skills and your rerolls on your team.

If you are losing the casualty war, then you might even consider fouling to try to even the sides a bit.

Pick your fights to ensure the 2D blocks, and avoid risky moves, beyond that just pray that the block dice are kind to you, an that your armour holds when you do go down!
