Future Ogre Team

Once this season is over with my Chaos team, I'm very tempted to start up some Ogres. No-one else in the area has them (probably for very good reason), and I really don't mind the fact that I'll probably never win a match with them!

I'm planning on using Warhammer Ogre Kingdom models (namely Iron Guts for the Ogres, since they are well armoured and I'll probably never get a 5th Ogre anyway, and Gnoblars as the Snotlings). Should look interesting, if nothing else!

The starting team, currently planned, will have four Ogres and 8 Snotlings. Maybe lacking in reserves (okay, definately lacking in reserves!), but I wanted a reasonable number of rerolls (3) to counter Bone 'ead rolls, and an Apothecary to stop my expensive Ogres from dying on my first game. Obviously the first thing I'll buy after the first match would be a herd more Snotlings to replace the obvious fatalities!

Inducements would be having even more Rerolls (you can never have too many - well, okay, 9 would be too many, but you know what I mean) and a Bloodweiser Babe, depending on how much inducement I get (probably a lot, if the local teams don't restart...).

Tactics involve the Ogres not starting on the scrim line (no block means they'll just get pounded by the inevitable Treemen and Trolls that people like having) and relying solely on the Snotlings' Dodge and Sidestep to keep them alive. The Ogres will deploy in the wide zones, ready to blitz their way into the enemy's half and cause as much pain as possible. The remaining Snotlings run around placing tackle zones in annoying places (yes, I know Titchy is hopeless for reliable tackles, but the more rolls I force the more 1's my opponant should roll) and possibly giving assists when needed to the Ogres. Oh, and have one of them grab the ball and try to hand it off to an Ogre if I'm receiving (risky, definately, since I'll need 4's to 'catch' the handoff most of the time, but better then having the Gnoblar try to run it), or maybe to throw the Gnoblar down pitch if I'm feeling brave (or desperate).

And above all don't try to move an Ogre if I don't need to. Nothing worse then rolling 1 for Bone 'ead and losing his Tackle Zones...

For skills I'd be aiming for Break Tackle, Juggernaut and Stand Firm for the Ogres (with Block first on the list for double rolls), with Diving Tackle, Sure Feet and Sprint on Gnoblars who don't die instantly (with Dauntless, Sure Hands or Nerves of Steel on doubles).

Does that sound about right to people?
