I've got an orc team now where a BoB get Block pretty quickly, The others can't keep up with him... All the BoBs have 2 casualties but I've been throwing TDs to the un-skilled BoBs because they can't land their third... meanwhile the Block guy is on 6 casualties.
I know that the Block Guy is getting more casualties because his opponents don't have block.
You could argue that when up against more developed teams, Mighty Blow would pack more punch... However! If they didn't have block, they'd be on their but or worse.
so, I guess this is the long way to say Block First.
On High MA ST4 guys, you 'could' look at Wrestle... But that won't help you get the next skill???
Speeding up development of ST4 Blocker-types - Block or MB?

To me, the proper way to speed the development of a ST4 blocker is to keep them standing in enemy TZs. Funny enough, the proper way to develop a ST4 blocker is to help them stay standing in enemy TZs. Sure, going for Block first does accelerate the player over Stand Firm, but the inability to be pushed away means you'll spend more time in enemy TZs, and hence get in more blocks, and level faster than you would have with no skill at all.
So, I say the fundamental argument is moot. The objective isn't getting to 16, it's getting a killer D. In the case of BOBs, I want two with Block and two with Stand Firm. It really doesn't matter whether or not the BOBs ever make it to their second improvements. So I give the first two Block, and if they go up again before #3 or 4, I give them Stand Firm.
