There have been alot of good advice here.
Most of it I already know.

My league is a dangerous one, There is me, HE/WE, one skaven player, one dwarf, one chaos, one undead and one orc.

The bashing teams are popular.

getting 16 ssp on every lineELF takes some time. But all of them have had their comp, So i usually get at least one increase pr. match.

As for starting off in the middle of a league, it absolutely favors experianced teams. You no longer get bonus mvp's. The handicap table isn't all that impressive really. Hardly ever actually makes a difference.

But I honestly belive, that only a fast moving team, like elves, has any chance of starting in the middle of a league. because, it takes so little to score a TD, Even with a rookie elf team.

Not many teams have managed to start fresh successfully. I have manged a few times, under the old rules. This will be the first try under the new rules.

I can also inform you all that me HE's fourth match I won. OKOK, So it was a rookie players second match, with his dwarves. But it still took me an entire half to score my first TD. It was raining, so picking up the ball was difficult. I failed, and he just walks in with his LONGBEARD, casually picks up the ball, and starts moving downfield. my entire team was on the other side of the pitch.. I did manage to stop him though. I actually had to pic the ball up, on my own side's td line, and run like hell upfield.

I scored the td on my last turn.

My lion warrior got a ma increrase. One more ,and we'll have a one turn wonder, on a high elf team.. (praying to all my gods)
I also got two lineELVES with guard, which suits me fine :D

Cheers!

I play HE.

On offence I always try to have atleast five players available for scoring in the second turn. That makes it hard for the defender to stop all five of them. I keep one of my throwers way back and the other close to LoS. The one in the back runs forward and either passes or hand-offs to the other catcher that delivers tha ball further down field.

Defence is trickier depending on what team you are facing. Against fast teams: always put pressure on the ball carrier. You´ll be able to use his misses (or double 1´s). Always keep at least one player in their half that can score.
Against boffer teams you have to try to hit the corners of the cage and the back of the cage. Look for a hole and make a hit. Guard + Leap helps alot. Try to score the turn you steal the ball to avoid unnecessary bashing.

Think long-term. In the beginning it isn´t worth losing two players to stop the chaos team. Wait until you have several good players before taking the big risks. Your time will come. High Elfs can be great.

Yeah. Well

Things are looking up. I now have two lion warriors with MA 9. So Chances are, one of them will hit 10. That will give me a 1 turner. I like those.

And Kri, You pretty much describe the tactics I use. Not very dissimilar from WE really.

They are working for now. Lost my first 3 matches, won my last three.
Lost a blodge DW last match though. But won 6-0.

Thing's are picking up.

Cheers!
