I voted pact, because I think they will probably be the most versatile bashy team to cause lots of CAS and make plays in the league. Keep in mind though that ultimately even 3 big guys won't help too much if your Dwarf, Orc or Khemri opponent decides to pick off enough of your AV8 marauders. Don't make the mistake of getting stuck against uber-bashers, but feel free to rip apart elves and their like.

Ill have to go Chaos (especially in a rookie league), even though Im not that familliar with chaos pact and are not sure how good they would be.

The chaos team have these things going for it:

1. GSM access on all players. (except the mino).
2. 4 st4 players, 1 st5 with horns. Horns on all the rest.
3. Ag3 on all players.

This means that you will have alot of muscle right from the start. Your need for guard will be secondary to actually bash-skills. The AG3 on your chaoswarriors means that they will be able to score TDs with (relative) ease, and you should be able to skill up one CW a game, or at worst, eachother game.

Ive been trying some stuff out with my latest Chaos team. Started with 4 CWs right from the batch, with the intention to give them diffrent skillorders just to see how it would work.

#1 started out with MB, then block, then claw, then piling on.
#2 started out with Block, then MB, then claw, then piling on.
#3 started out with Claw, then MB, then Block, then piling on.
#4 started out with MB, then Piling on, then Block, then Claw.

Out of these 4 builds, my #1 and #4 have skilled up the quickest. Not going block first means a little less reliable, but also gets your skills quicker. You really should take block as either first or second skill though, dont know how many TOs my #4 have caused.

Anyways, given the ag3 on CWs, and starting with MB as first skillchoice, your chaos team will grow much quicker than many other bashing teams for certain.

Guard is a good skill to put on your beasties. And dont forget extra arms.

Thus there is a point in time when you shouldnt.
