Lizardman roster depth?

Post by bouncergriim »

Right now I have a strong, but still developing team of lizards, and I was wondering how deep you would keep a lizardman roster. I am thinking of running on average 1 krox, 6 sauri, and 7 skinks... righ now I only have 6 skinks.

Also should I try to develop all of my skinks, or just have two rookie backups without skills to avoid TV bloat?

Here is mine right now
6 sauri, 6 skinks, 1 krox

saurus with wrestle
saurus with frenzy
saurus with block and dodge
saurus with block 1 Niggle and 12spps
saurus with break tackle and dodge
saurus with block

2 skinks with 4AG ( one with sure hands the other with block)
1 skink with Side step diving tackle
1 skink with side step, catch, diving catch
1 skink with side step, wrestle
1 unskilled skink

and a rookie krox

4 RR, 1 AC, 1 CL, Apoth and 50k in the bank
TV for next game 174 (niggle saurus is missing)

Only have between 1-4 games till end of season (open scheduling)

I think there a couple of key factors you need to take into account
1) Skink vulnerability - do you get so many KOd or Cas skinks you frequently can't field 11 at the start of a drive?
2) Relative TVs - are you likely to be an underdog and hence want the slots free for stars?

I'd be aiming for 14 players, if the answers to those two questions is yes & no maybe taking 15.

If the answer is no to the first question then maybe 13 or even 12 is okay.

Having rookie skinks around isn't a bad idea as skinks die and need to be replaced... and your bench warmers will get promoted to first team action soon enough.

I keep my Lizards at 13. I leave my least experienced Skinks on the bench until they are needed, which is not all that often. I purchase new players when one or more are missing the next game and then drop injured (stat decrease or double niggling) players when I have more than 13 available for the following game.

This helps to keep the TV from getting out of control.
