4th skill on MA7 Dwarf Blitzer

Post by AviStetto »

I have a dwarf blitzer who is at 7 3 3 9 Block, Mighty Blow, Thick Skull. He just earned his 4th skill. Any recommendations for that skill?

The team:
Blitzer - MA+2, Mighty Blow
Blitzer - Dodge
Slayer - Mighty Blow, Stand Firm (AV-1)
Slayer - Mighty Blow
Runner - Block, Fend, Kick-Off Return, Pro
Runner - Block, Fend, Kick
Deathroller - Block, Multiple Bock
Longbeard - Guard, Mighty Blow, Stand Firm
Longbeard - Guard, Mighty Blow
Longbeard - Guard
Longbeard - Grab
Longbeard - unskilled x3
ReRolls - 6
Fan Factor - 12

Short term or long term league?

If the former, and if you have a few agile teams to face, I'd think of tackle or strip ball, or guard as a third choice.

If the latter, probably guard or stand firm.

Might be tempted with Frenzy as he has a massive range for a Dwarf and one of your Slayers may not be long for this world...

I'd take Piling On. He's got AV9 and Thick Skull, so fouling him when he's down is probably too risky for most, given the low chances for success.
And Piling On could really help him, I think. After all, this will be the dude sent after key players you want off the pitch as soon as possible.

After that, I'd take Tackle. Maybe Frenzy, but three players with that skill would be risky and probably necessitate getting another re-roll.

You saw that he has six re-rolls, right?

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

I might not have seen that.

Maybe.

(Honestly now, I don't exactly know why, but somehow I thought he had 3.)

However, I still think Piling On would be the right skill now.

I'd probably take Tackle or Strip Ball. He makes a great safety or sacker.

Ditto.

14 players & 6 rerolls feels like a bit of TV bloat. You might want to consider dropping to 13 players and 4 or 5 rerolls. How often do you use all 6?

I'd go for Tackle, I think.

A movement 7 Dwarf Blitzer is just wrong! But apart from that I would go Tackle! He has to be the last line of defence against dodging catchers!

I would go with Tackle. Range of 9 to blitz and the skill to put down the dodgers is quite a threat.

(And for our American fans, read that sentence again and ask yourselves if Manny Ramirez has Tackle. Ability to put down dodgers... OK, not that funny but it popped into my head instantly!)
