Human team, first season over
My human team placed second in our local league. I was beaten by my archenemy, skaven team Warpy Furballs. Match was like our previous, my try my best in defence but still they score. Match ended 3-1 to skavens.
In the finals, even the loser gets something funny. We have a rule that every player that participates in finals get's MVP. So almost every player got skill after the final match. For example my lineman who have had one comp after the very first match.
Here is my Cockerel after the finals.
01. Catcher: Catch, Dodge, D. Catch, +ST [30SPP]
02. Catcher: Catch, Dodge, Side Step, Nerves of Steel, Block, +AV [64SPP]
03. Lineman: Kick [13SPP]
04. Lineman: nothing... Boring..
05. Lineman: Wrestle [7SPP]
06. Lineman: Wrestle [6SPP]
07. Lineman: Strip ball, +MA
08. Lineman: Wrestle+niggling
09. Blitzer: Block, Tackle [7SPP]
10. Blitzer: Block, Tackle [14SPP]
11. Blitzer: Block, Guard, Stand Firm, +new skill [31SPP]
12. Blitzer: Block, Guard [12SPP]
13. Ogre: Starting skills+Guard [12SPP]
14. Thrower: Sure hands, Pass, Accurate [8SPP]
[Italic skills are those which I gained after the final match and can be changed]
4 Re-rolls
6 FF
Apothecary
Treasury: 80 000 + extra winnings from finals [can't remember those now]
Total: 1 710 000
I like my team very much. I placed fourth in the regular season but in a play-offs I beat orc team which won the regular season. Now most of my players skilled up and TV went up. I would like to hear your comments about my team, especially about my skill choices after the final match.
To linos #5 and #6 I rolled 4+6 from star player roll table. I have one lineman with +MA but I think that wrestle [or some other skill] would be better. They will stand in the LOS so they don't need MA. AV may be better but... I don't like the idea having AV9 linos and my other players are just AV8.
I chose wrestle to my linos because block is really common in our leagua. We have Norse team, two Orc teams, Skaven team, Undead team and in the second seasons there will also be dwarf and necromantic team. So wrestle is there to "countering" the massive wave of blocks.
Two of my blitzers are supporters [those with the guard] so to the other two I chose tackle because it helps me to hurt those skavens [and also some other teams]. My second option is mighty blow. My team sucks in fight. I have caused 8 casualties in whole seasons [16 matches] and some players in other teams have caused them more than my team in total! I play ball more than men but.. I'm not sure about this one. But one is kinda sure, no more guards?
My throwers had a habit to die when they almost get their third skill. This is my third thrower after the start of the league. I like accurate very much beacuse it makes thrower more reliable but on the other hand block might make him live longer.
Now I would like to hear your comments. ^^

#5 & #6 I like Wrestle. The only other contender for me would be +Av - sit them either side of the Ogre on D and get pounded. However wrestle saves them a lot of Av rolls too - and means you can hit with them and get cas spps so is probably better.
#8 I'd give dirty player. With a niggle you aren't going to put him in the line so DP seems like a good fit.
#9 & #10 - I think I'd take Guard instead. Guard on all four blitzers is a must to be able to contend with any of the bash teams. With only skaven on the pure flair side I think that's important.
However that leaves you light on tackle which with with that opposition you'll need some. So give #11 tackle.
Take Stand Firm on the next blitzer to skill up (so you've a pair of Gd/SF), then Mighty Blow on the next two. Try to get the wrestle guys tackle. Give kick wrestle too. Wrestle is a mini anti-blodge weapon.

I agree with Ian on the linemen: two wrestle and a DP is the way to go.
But I disagree on the blitzers. With two already having guard, I'd go mighty blow with the first two, especially on #9, who stands at 7 spp. We can assume that #10 should skill up soon, so if you go tackle with him, MBlow at 16 spp. Then look at the fear in the eyes of your archnemesis skaven coach!
If you don't want Frenzy on #11, then again, I would go with Mighty Blow here.
Accurate is good on the thrower. I usually take Block as a second skill, unless you get AG or ST increase!

Thanks due the comments ^^
I really don't want to give those blitzer guard because three "guardians" are enough. Like SBG said, MB to #09 and tackle to #10. To blitzer #11 my friend suggested carb, because he is in position to block, after he is supported the blizt last turn. There is also some side steppers in our league so it might be useful. Mighty blow is also good choice to him so I really have to think this one.
Dirty player.. Noneone in the league have chose it. And I'm maybe the one who fouls the less. It is not my thing ^^" But it might be psychological weapon against my opponents that I might foul.. Have to think this one. If it isn't DP which skill is it? Wrestle like other linoes?
You may also suggest skills to lino #04 because he is one comp away from new skill.

For Block/Guard/Stand Firm, you'll find Grab makes him really scary on the O-line, or in the OLB spot protecting one of the non-Guard Blitzers (use the Ogre on the other side, unless you're up against all-ST3, with the other Guard guy at your nose to assist the Wrestlers).
I'd take Frenzy or Mighty Blow on both Blitzers, and follow with Stand Firm or Tackle. Yeah, it's not quite as good against GRs, but Wrestle linos will help with that. More important, the best way to a GR's heart is through the stomach of the lino or SV in front of him.

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.
