+1 Agility on fresh human lineman.

Post by Powerhausen »

Okay so I got a +1 AG human lineman, he's got no other skills, so he's ready to be developed into ... something. Problem is, I don't really know what to make of him. Maybe sure hands, use him as a sort of ball retriever, and pray for a double?

Suggestions?

sure hands, dump off, kick off return would all be good skills for him.

you domn't list much of your roster so it is hard to see where he would fit in, however +AG on humans is golden...

You could give him block and make him into agile extra blitzer (then follow it up with stripball/tackle). If you get doubles, obviously that broadens your scope somewhat.

As Voyagers says, knowing more about your team would be useful, so we could see which gaps best need filling.

I'd use him as a mobile blitzer. Wrestle / Tackle / Strip Ball are good options for that. Dodge or Leap on doubles.

It's a farily new team, so there's not a lot of skills going around anyway. The full team can be found here: http://bloodbowl.krokodille.com/team.php?id=189&tid=

I agree with the above. I think the best use for the +AG on a human lineman is the ability to dodge more reliably, which makes him useful in a blitzer role. If he gets doubles next skill I wouldn't consider Leap as he wouldn't be too useful with just Leap.

Agreed. If you got a double after he already has Wrestle and/or Strip Ball, it might be worth considering. Dodge is still probably a better option. 5+ into the cage with a free re-roll is 56% likely to worth, as opposed to 67% with Leap (no reroll).

personally i'd use him in conjunction with the strip ball blitzer as a ball retriever. strip ball pop's the ball open then your lineman picks it up and distributes it to one of your safety men.

i'd be looking for skills like block, dodge, nerves of steel, that sort of thing. you can still use him as another blitzer whilst you're skilling him up.

Yeah I know the guard issue. I'm tooling up blitzer #7 to be the "injury guy", with frenzy and pile on, and #9 as a ball retriever (although I sorta regret that, in retrospect I wish I'd given strip ball to someone with wrestle) and will probably get tackle or somesuch later on. #8 will get guard ASAP however, as well as #10 who already has it, any linemen who gets a double, and the soon-to-be-brought ogre. So it's certainly next on the agenda.

I'll probably get wrestle as the next skill on the AG 4 lineman. I need some wrestlers anyway and I like the whole box busting concept.

I gotta say, in general I don't think I'm a half bad Blood Bowl player, but I'm fairly new to LRB5, and also, macro tactics have developed a lot since the last time I played regularly, so a lot of the common concepts going around are embarrasinly new to me. It's also my first time playing a human team long-term, so I'm really grateful for all the advice.
