Quick Necro Question re: Rookie Wight Skill Up

Post by Master Wang »

Been following the Necro thread in Rules feedback. Got one skill up on my wight, he rolled 6+4. Was planning on Guard before the roll, do I need the speed on a team with 2 MA8 players and access to 2 MA7 ones? At the moment the team is 2 wolves, 2 golems, 6 zombies and this guy.

Tough call.... Wights are gonna be on the hit list with Weres and ghouls... once those positionals are done, so is the team....

9 AV has kept many a positional alive for me....

7 MA would allow for more depth and keep up with the ghouls and weres....

You really need guard on the team... as well as MB....

Sigh... so many choices.... I say +AV... by a wisp, with Guard (ignoring the doubles) a very close second....

It's not a double (6+4) so I don't need to worry about those choices, thankfully. It's the long or short term question. Having thought about it, Guard is probably a more immediate need, and I think is the way I'll go. If he gets a second bite at +AV or +MA maybe I'll take it, but as his first skill...

you have enough speed, skills to help in the bashing war are alot better for necro.

Agree. You don't need the speed, but you will need Guard.

The concensus is Guard and you can't go wrong with that: it greatly helps setting up double hits with Frenzy Werewolves.... The only trouble Goreman teams have had with guard wights is targetting (people hate them) and slower skill-ups from spending time with moving into position as opposed to throwing a maximum of blocks/blitzes.... Scoring with them, on occasion, helps tremendously....

Yeah, on an Undead Wight I'd consider MA, but on Necro, you need all the ST you can get.
