Undead v. Khemri v. Humans v. Elves - Which TV 1000 team?

Post by SierraKiloBravo »

I'm thinking of taking one of these three teams to a tournament in a few months. It's a regen tournament with six skills assigned prior to game 1. Six matches total. Which one would you take and why?

Team 1 - Undead
2 Mummies
2 Wights
3 Ghouls
5 Zombies
2 RR
1 AC
1 CL

Team 2 - Khemri
4 Guardians
2 Thro-Ras
6 Skeletons
3 RR
FF 1

Team 3 - Humans
4 Blitzers
1 Thrower
2 Catchers
5 Linemen
3 RR
FF 3

Team 4 - Elves
2 Blitzers
3 Catchers
1 Thrower
6 Linemen
1 RR

If I had to narrow it down now, I'd narrow it down to the humans and the undead. Khemri are one trick pony (albeit one Hell of a trick) and I'm not thrilled about 1 RR on the elves (although giving the thrower Leader is a given).

Thanks for looking.

I'd take khemri, cause of the possible roster change soon and cause i've played undead and humans a lot

I'd go with Khemri, but you gotta have at least one Blitz-ra. They're a little more challenging, but winning with them is rewarding. Having a selection of skills beforehand will help offset some of their drawbacks if you develop a clear picture of how you'd like them to perform.

undead really easy cause they are well really easy

humans not too bad, had some poor luck and games rushed to finish while playing slow coaches

used them in tournaments with unusual skill rules too

Either I misclicked or there's something wrong with the poll but I voted Khemri yet it says there's only one vote for Khemri so far (while it seems at least 2 other people voted Khemri, reading this thread).

Anyway: if you take Khemri, I'd take a Blitz-Ra too if I were you. I don't think you need two Thro-Ras but the Block and movement on Blitz-Ra are very handy.

Couldn't say it better. That team is very scary at low levels.

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

Undead with 6 skills is pretty one-sided: guard, guard, guard, guard, sure hands, block. Only Dwarves would give you a challenge.

If you want style points though, go with the humies. Nobody would begrudge a good performance with them.

See, I was thinking Guard / Guard / Mighty Blow / Tackle / Block / Sure Hands. I've never played undead before either. Finally, my human team is almost all Impact and there could be an issue with non-GW minis. I may end up just taking both and see which way the wind's blowing when I get there.
