Spending of Treasury

Post by gamesvaultsteve »

Hi all.

Just about to start a new season in the league we run at the shop.

My team is Undead and developing well.

We have lots of new teams entered into the league this year and some of them have had to go into Division 2 which I may be back in as a couple of players have dropped out last minute.

This season as well as the normal inducement rule we are allowing teams if they wish to spend treasury money on inducements.

Is there any point in a higher value team spending its treasury money on inducements when it is playing a team of lower value? My team is now worth 1,480,000 and I may well be playing team that have a value of 1,000,000 so they will have 480k to spend.

Is it worth me dipping into my treasury for a cheeky bribe the ref for example?

Look forward to your thoghts and ideas.

Steve

Do you mean you're using the rules as written (overdog spends treasury on inducements, which adds to their TV, then the underdog works out their inducements), or that after inducements are worked out, the overdog can then buy inducements?

If you're using the rules as written, there's not much point in spending cash on inducements, as the underdog will get the equivilent back (there a some uses, such as Bribes, or denying a certain Star to your opponent, but not many).

if you're using the 2nd way, it could be potentially unbalancing (if you worry about that sort of thing), especially if the overdogs have lots of money in the bank.

Hi there we are using the 1st rule;

"overdog spends treasury on inducements, which adds to their TV, then the underdog works out their inducements"

Good idea about hiring a star player they are after just to stop them.

Thanks
