Thank you for your input guys. I ended up taking Dirty Player. In our league people seem very fond of fouling (even against AV9 with no assists... WTF?). So I thought I would return the favour, while at least tilting the odds a little in my favor.

Meanwhile the other Lino (with Block) got to his next skill, and I think I will take Kick rather than Tackle. I want to try to control where the ball lands.

Has anyone have any sort of luck with kicking the ball (using Kick) very close to the LOS, rather than in back corner? I am thinking especially against deployments where not all receiving players deploy on the LOS (this seems to be every game for me).

Absolutely. For orcs this is a very viable tactic, as it can allow you to get pressure on the ball very quickly!

I would also suggest that the 10 AV is not worth bothering with. AV 9 is hard to break as it is. If you're being hit with claw, 10 is no better than 9. The +MA could be useful in the long run, but IMHO Block is a must for hitty/bashy teams. Orcs can take hits quite well with their high AV. But Block will keep them on their feet more, and will help to prevent turn overs, especially on the 1 die blocks that you'll need to periodically throw. I'd save other stuff for second skills.

Some more advancements. The S5 BoB with Block rolls Doubles. Now here is the key: as ours is a short league, this is most likely his last advancement (not likely He can accumulate another 20 SPPs).

If I were to chose a doubles Skill I waffle between Jump-Up (to allow him basically a second blitz on a 3+) and Dodge (to keep him on his feet on anything POW!)... probably Dodge

The other direction I see is a regular skill, either Guard or Mighty Blow... probably Guard, to pair up with the Troll.

Considering this is his likely last skill, and the remainder of the team, what do you guys think?

Black Orc - Block, Guard (17 SPP)
Black Orc - Block (10 SPP)
Black Orc - S5, Block, ??? (32 SPP)
Blitzer - Guard, MB (18 SPP)

Blitzer - Strip Ball (14 SPP)
Blitzer - Stand Firm (13 SPP)
Lino - Block, Kick (17 SPP)
Lino - Dirty Player (12 SPP)

I would go with the Guard or Mighty. He is more built for that.

I wouldn't go with dodge or jump up. He shouldn't be taking many hits/getting knocked down very often...

Guard and mighty blow are always good. Break tackle could be fun too...
