What skills to take on my orcs
I am playing a Orc team that will be starting it's 4th season so and could use some advice on skill selection.
My roster is
#1 BO- (guard)
#2 BO- block, MB, guard, stand firm, fan favourite (tackle)
#3 BO- block, MB, guard (stand firm)
#4 BO- block, +1ST (guard)
#5 blitzer- block (tackle)
#6 blitzer- block, guard, +1ST (tackle/stand firm)
#7 blitzer- block, MB (piling on)
#8 blitzer- block, dodge, +1AG, guard, tackle, stand firm, fan fav
#9 thrower- sure hands, pass, accurate, block, +1AG (KO return)
#10 thrower- sure hands, pass (kick)
#11 lineman- (wrestle)
#12 lineman- (dirty player)
#14 goblin- (side step)
#16 troll- block, guard, stand firm, regen, stupid, hungry, TTM, MB (grab)
*skills in() are next pick.
Am I on the right track? I have never played a Orc team before this and was looking for thoughts and ideas. Have at it.

Re: What skills to take on my orcs
Looks like a good Orc roster. Here are some things I might do a little differently on skills:
#1 - I would take block first, but guard is never wrong.
#6 - I like frenzy here. If not on him, then on one of the other blitzers.
#10 - Gotta love kick, but I prefer to put kick on a lineman.

#1 Block - otherwise you'll never block with him and get no cas.
#2 I'd probably take Grab instead of tackle, but if you've a lot of dodge around then its worth having.
#6 Frenzy for sure.
#10 I'd give Block ahead of kick. I prefer kick on line orcs TBH.
#12 I'd give wrestle ahead of DP.
#14 Sidestep is really a defensive skill. I like to build them as catcher/receivers. For the one turn sprint & catch are the best options - sprint because it increases the odds of being able to make it to the endzone at all - catch because its the harder than the GFIs.

Nice team so far! Here are my thoughts -
#1 BO- (guard) Block, Frenzy
#2 BO- block, MB, guard, stand firm, fan favourite Frenzy
#3 BO- block, MB, guard Stand Firm
#4 BO- block, +1ST MiB, Stand Firm
#5 blitzer- block Tackle
#6 blitzer- block, guard, +1ST MiB
#7 blitzer- block, MB Tackle, Guard
#8 blitzer- block, dodge, +1AG, guard, tackle, stand firm, fan fav Fend
#9 thrower- sure hands, pass, accurate, block, +1AG KOR
#10 thrower- sure hands, pass Kick, Block
#11 lineman- Block
#12 lineman- Block
#14 goblin- Sneaky Git, Side Step - hope for doubles for DP!
#16 troll- block, guard, stand firm, regen, stupid, hungry, TTM, MB Grab
- I don't like Tackle on the BOBs as I find them too slow to use it. It seems much better suited for the Blitzers.
- Same with Guard. I find the BOBs natural strength, plus the Troll, protects their 2-die advantage and leaves you free to put more injury skills on them - MiB, PO, Frenzy, etc .
- 4-ST makes #6 a hitter, even if he has the ball.
- Blodge plus +AG makes #8 your ballcarrier. Fend makes him even more annoying. Doubles here is Side Step.
- Why Wrestle (#11) with a LineOrcs 5-MV when you can just Block to keep him upright and fighting? Orcs have no trouble knocking players over without lying down themselves.
- Why foul (#12) with a 50K LineOrcs who can fight when you have access to 40K Goblins who can Stunty into better fouling positions? Orcs knock 'em down, Goblins give 'em da boot!
- If your treasury is solid, I'd recommend cutting the Troll and rebuying to try for Block. I know it sounds greedy but Orcs build up $$$ like crazy with their low casualties taken and losing Stand Firm/Guard/whatever you took on the Troll will mean nothing to your team. A rookie Troll is almost as good and is only a Cas plus MVP away from a shot at Block! Helps keep your TV down a tiny bit as well.
Thanks for posting your team!

I think you're only allowed to take Block once, even on a troll.SunDevil wrote:- If your treasury is solid, I'd recommend cutting the Troll and rebuying to try for Block. I'd be thinking Multiple Block might be an option for him too. Either before or after grab.dr. evil wrote:#16 troll- block, guard, stand firm, regen, stupid, hungry, TTM, MB (grab)

I didn't think of multi-bock. That is a great idea.DoubleSkulls wrote:I'd be thinking Multiple Block might be an option for him too. Either before or after grab.dr. evil wrote:#16 troll- block, guard, stand firm, regen, stupid, hungry, TTM, MB (grab)
