@ Coach: This is why I'm considering Tackle so strongly. By the time Uncle Slam comes back, I'll almost certainly have Tackle on Rush Moore, but having two of them can't hurt.
So the real question is this. Which of the following concerns is stronger?
1) My most expensive guy is AV7 and likely at any given moment to be one of only two guys without either Dodge or Side Step. Moreover, I can't game to protect him, 'cause he's ST4/Block/MB and wants to be in the thick of it.
2) AFAWC, I have precisely one Tackle player in a Dodge-heavy format. And even that one is sort of counting my chickens.

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

You can use surgical blitzing with him as he has high enough movement, much like people do with Werewolves.
Players die though, I wouldn't worry about him getting killed at the expense of taking a skill that will be more useful for winning games. Also it isn't like Dodge can't get cancelled out anyway. With the amount of other players who have Dodge on your team, scoring isn't looking like it is a problem. Dealing with opposing teams Block + Dodge players is though.

+1Coach wrote:You said the league is Dodge heavy, that points all signs to taking Tackle. Especially as you don't have a single instance of it yet. I wouldn't even consider anything else given the make up of the league you have described, especially the Undead team.

When Ian and Coach are on the same side of a debate and you're in the middle, that's a pretty good sign. Tackle it is.
Related: should I still take Tackle next on Rush Moore? 7/3/4/8 Block, SS, Frenzy, 28 SPP.

High Elves are so flexible it is great, there are plenty of good choices.
Tackle is probably one of the better ones though and with Side Step won't be easy to push away, I'd probably go Juggernaut on doubles. He has Block to take down players you cancel Wrestle out on, Frenzy for crowd pushes and Side Step to be fairly safe if you end up near the sideline.
After that Dodge or Diving Tackle are pretty solid picks. Before that though Tackle is probably still the higher priority given your Dodge heavy opposition.

Normal skill I'd be tempted by Dodge ahead of tackle, just to allow you to position him more easily to take advantage of the frenzy/ss

Dodge for me too. Frenzy gives you another shot at a pesky dodger anyway so in terms of blocking it almost counts as Tackle.

One advantage of not taking Tackle on this guy is that frequently I see Dodge on the Undead team's LOS (he likes to use his ST6 Mummies as midfielders), and it's often on the guy I'm trying to chainpush off of. If I take a stumble, he'll declare Dodge every time, but if he sees that I decline to use Tackle, I'm afraid he'll stop falling for it. As is, I take pows over pushes on that blow, 'cause I don't want him to catch on. Is this wrong? Am I metagaming too much?

I chose MA8, extra move is handy and he will pick up more as he goes on but the move will get him out of spots, help others, chase down fast stuff.
The line will need dauntless to take on those mummies.
Take dodge next time, then tackle.
