I thought I would share this one with you all.

A coach in our league learnt his trade last season with Dwarfs, starting slowly, but becoming quite good. With everybody's encouragement, he started out this season with Wood Elves. Second game in, the following happens (against rookie Skaven):

- A Dead Tree
- 4 Dead Linemen
- A forcibly retired Lineman

3rd game in (against Norse), the following happens:

- Skilled Wardancer GFIs to the endzone with ball and dies (despite Re-roll and Apothecary).
- Another dead player (Thrower, I think).

Game 4 will see him start with a Wardancer, 2 Linos and 8 Journeymen...

We're just praying he won't go back to Dwarfs and stick with them 'till he's 95.

Maybe he'd like to try CDs....or Orcs...or Chaos.

That is spectacularly bad luck by any standards though.

The CAS rate does not appear to be related to playing style:

- At least half the Linemen have died on the LoS.

- The Tree died the first time he was knocked down.

- The Wardancer just died on a 1 in 18,500 chance...

We have another team in the league going a similar way, Humans this time. Starting his third game with 5 Journeymen...

Looks like a good season in store.

Stop playing Woodies and play a real team like Pro Elves, High Elves or Dwarfs...

Sounds like the first LRB5 skaven team I ever coached. In their first 10 games they took roughly 35 injuries that were a combination of MNG, -stats and death. It was quite distressing.

Meh. I had my star goat (Block, MB, PO, Tackle, 10spps to claw) die last game due to a meteor strike. I had fame (+1). Opponent rolled throw a rock twice in the game winning both rolls. The last one was fatal..

We got a throw-a-rock (1/18)
It hit me (15/36), not him..
It hit my "star" 1/11..
It was a CAS 1/6..
It was a kill 1/6..
It didnt get regenned 1/2.

Now the mathematiclaly inclined will notice the odds are about 15/513216 or about 1/34k per kickoff (he really was the only valuable player in the team, against the opponents all dodge Pro-elf team).

Carnis - yeah, that's pretty bad.

I recall a game last year where my opponent's Wardancer was killed by a thrown rock at the first kick-off. Apoth failed, of course.

I love stories like this. As long as it didn't happen to a new player, who was subsequently demoralized from playing again.

Trying to get the lads here playing BB (god knows how many years ago now), under straight 3rd ed iirc (might have been LRB1). Human vs human, 2 Blitzers, 2 Catchers, 2 throwers and 6 linos per side. Opening Kick-Off, Pitch Invasion, tied roll, 6 per side, all the positionals, all Cas'd (BH or worse).

Could have put them off, but they thought it was hilarious. Been playing BB regularly ever since.
