Math lesson: Block is almost worthless when defending against non-Block players. But it's great when you're the attacker! So as a Norse coach, go after the little ones with gusto and ignore the Tree unless you can get 2d on it with your Snow Troll (for the Claws) or you can get a Dodge Runner onto it (which is an expensive way to mark an MA2 guy, but frequently very effective, as he can hit the Treeman).bungo_underhill wrote:From a Norse perspective, marking the trees with AV 7 players seems worrying, even if they do have block.

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

Re: Tactics Vs Halflings?
I played against Galak, the best Hafling coach I've seen so far and these are the lessons I learn:
I agree that block is the key, get the little buggers off the field. Also ignoring the Trees worked for me since the always find a way to root down.
Expect the unexpected, the high risk high reward moves the kind of move that you would never consider, except with Gobos. Galak got 1s and Skulls at key moments, but with a little more luck we would have drawn.
Play conservatively since you are likely to have few RR. Do not be fancy, be boring but efficient.
