I have a gutter runner with 6 ag (!) and a blitzer with guard. I just got a second skill on a gutter runner. he already has block, I am hesitating between sidestep and catch. My GR with 6 ag is obviously the one that retrieves the ball and throws it, now the second gutter runner could be my catcher..

I am playing in a small league against Orcs, Chaos Dwarves and Humans BTW

Catch is a waste. Look elsewhere.

Sure Hands would be good, as would Dauntless or Side Step. Catch is indeed a waste.

I like to get a Block/SS GR to mark the ball. Diving Tackle makes a good follow-up at 31 SPP, as do doubles skills Big Hand and Guard.

I'd take Side step on the GR with Block. Give Wrestle (followed by Dauntless and Strip Ball) to the third GR to skill up.

Actually, building towards a ball carrier marker (with SS and Diving Tackle) might be a waste as the humans are the least bashy team you'll be facing. Maybe follow Joemanji's advice and take Sure Hands (to pick up loose balls) on the block GR.
