I might be playing in my first tournament this weekend (I have only played 2 games before this). I want to play a pretty basic Orc team. No Goblins and not sure if I want to use a Troll? Anyways the rules are:
"All inducements may be purchased excluding Mercenaries and Special Play cards. Obviously any inducement purchased for the team will be available for each game of the tournament. All Teams must be using a starting value of 1,1500,000 gold pieces. After a team is built with the 1.15 million each coach can then assign to his players a total of 10 skills. Of these 10 skills 3 can be “doubles” skills. Up to three players on the team can receive two skills but only one of these can be a doubles skill. In place of a doubles skills a normal skill can be given or a +1 MA or +1 AV. After all skills have been assigned each coach then receives two skills to assign. Because this is the Blood Bath and blood is what the crowd came to see each team will be able to assign a Mighty Blow skill and a Dirty Player. These two skills can only be given to two separate players who have not previously received a skill or improvement in the earlier steps."
So for my line-up I was thinking:
2 Linemen
1 Thrower
4 Black Orc Blockers
4 Blitzers
or possibly cut one Linemen for a Troll.
Now the question is what else do I use my money for (re-rolls obviously) but after that? Apothecary? An extra player? Then what skills should I take? I'm just not sure what type of skills would be better for a tourney environment, seeing you don't really have to take skills to help your player gain SSPs.

Re: Need Help For Orc Team
so 7 normal skills 3 doubles and then MB and DP and three players can get 2 skills but only one of those 6 skills can be a double
blitzer with dodge
blitzer with MB
blitzer with dodge
blitzer with guard or frenzy
black orc block or guard
black orc block or guard
black orc block and guard
black orc block and guard
thrower block or leader
lineman with DP
only uses 2 doubles, but not really a problem with orcs, could take dodge on three blitzers
you will have to tweak that slightly to your preference, might want to give sure hands to a dodge blitzer as well for instance, then you don't really need 2 throwers
its what i would use as a starting point though

Re: Need Help For Orc Team
I'd take a Block Troll for one of the doubles. So
troll Block
BOB Guard x 4
Blitzer MB
Blitzer Tackle
Blitzer Frenzy (or Tackle)
Blitzer
Line Orc Guard
Line Orc Guard
Thrower Leader or Block
Line Orc or Goblin Dirty Player
13 players gives a little more resilience to the MB/DP you'll face.

Re: Need Help For Orc Team
If I get this right, it's:
1.15M, plus
3 doubles/+AV/+MA, plus
7 skills, up to 2 skills each, plus
Mighty Blow or Dirty Player on 2 rookies
Dude, run the Half-Zig!
1.15M: 1 Troll, 4 BOBs, 4 Blitzers, 1 Thrower, 1 Lineman, 1 Goblin, 1 FF, 3 TRR, Apoth.
Doubles: Troll w/Block (strong midfielder), Blitzer w/Side Step (inverted winger), Blitzer with MA7 (free flanker) or with Dodge (strong winger)
Normal: Stand Firm on a Blitzer (strong winger), plus Guard on a BOB (nose) and Guard on a Blitzer (flanking the strong winger), Stand Firm and Block on one other BOB (end #1), and two of the following: Block, Stand Firm, Frenzy or Mighty Blow on a rookie BOB, or Block or Accurate on the Thrower, or Frenzy or Tackle on the Stand Firm Blitzer at strong winger (if you didn't give him Dodge).
DP/MB: DP on the Lino (free midfielder on the inverted side), MB on the remaining BOB (strong safety, next to the Lino) or a rookie Blitzer if there is one.
I swear, man, the board might as well be almost a square, because the opponent's world will end three squares downfield.
