+AV or guard on a minotaur?
Hi guys
This is my team:
http://ecbbl.doubleskulls.net/team_viewer.php?id=611
I rolled a 6+4 for my minotaur - shall I give him +AV or guard (I only put guard provisionally in my team sheet at the moment.)?
I MUST win a game against orcs next or I won't make it in the quarter finals of my season. And if I do, I'm certain that I'll be facing a combination of orcs and dwarves.
So far, orcs and dwarves have outstrengthed me because they have either access to more ST4 players, and/or have at least as many players with guard as I do, so I've been consistently beaten up without sufficient agility or speed to make up for that.
What do you recommend?
Thanks.

given the background I would take the Guard, they will have to try to take him out early which should reduce pressure elsewhere.

Mmm, hard call. Normally I'd go for the AV like a shot, but given your guard issues I'm not so sure.
But in my experience, CD Minos often get taken out early and guard wont help you when he's in the CAS box, so I'd still go AV (and you have a few guards, with some luck you'll get a couple more soon).

4 players with guard is standard amongst my opponents, and I need to win all my (very few) games (left) right now, so I can't think in terms of future games and future skills.Aliboon wrote:(and you have a few guards, with some luck you'll get a couple more soon).

Guard. In a perpetual format, I'd recommend in favor of +AV and against Guard at all, but not in this case.

Piling On. I forever regret showing our league what Piling On can do.
Then showing what a Chaos Minotaur with Piling On and a Claw...
Jump Up turned out to be rather hilarious on him too.

Minotaurs are glass cannons. Get the most of out him and get through your orcy/dwarfy patch.
BTW, in terms of skills, guard is not bad if you keep him as a midfield pounder with chaos dwarfs in close support. But if you use him as an anti-flanking punisher, then juggernaut or standfirm may be a better option.
