4th skill, DE renegade

Post by mrmojoz »

My star Pact DE (blodge, SS) has a normal roll to spend. I'd like to hear your suggestions! I'm leaning towards horns atm to up his blitzing prowess.

Horns are a good pick if your marauders are good enough to handle offensive duties without needing the DElf's AG4.

There's also Leap, which combined with blodge+sidestep has made a highly effective combo for my dark elf.

Echoing Warpstone's comments. If he's used as a Blitzer, then Horns is a great choice. Leap turns him into an evil Wardancer, too.

Depends how you use him on the pitch, though. All-round hitter, ball handler (run or throw), safety...? A Blodging SS DElf can be used so many ways :D

He is already a handful on offense so I wanted to make him scarier on D. Leap looks like a nice choice too as it would help on both.

I'd lean towards leap. If you want a horns blitzer a maurader could do, and you could add on skills to make them hit harder or better (tackle).

You probably won't use leap all that often, but your opponent has to respect that it's out there, and it can get you out of some tight spots on offense.

I'd go with leap. It means you will always be able to get a shot at the ball carrier. Tackle would be my second pick.

Then think about Very Long Legs to leap on a 2+ and boom, reliable cage destroyer and all-round mobile threat.

I'll admit that VLL would be a lot of fun on a DE leaper. Though there might be better things to take.

I've gotta suggest it because of the Norse player in me, but frenzy could follow up leap very well. Against your typical frenzier, an opponent can simply lead with players with positional skills, or have players in position to follow up a push with a push, making crowdpushes hard.

However leap lets you get wherever and sidestep means your fine ending your turn on the sideline. This would make any use of the rows by the sideline dangerous for your opponent. And with all those big guys in the middle of the field, they may find themselves running out of space.

Leap, Horns or Tackle.

I built my DE differently (wrestle, strip ball, leap, vll) but I'd second the suggestion of horns if he/she is a blitzer.

I'd also consider diving tackle. Blodging/SS/Diving Tackle is incredibly annoying.

Think I'll go with Leap, it seems it adds value on both sides of the ball and adds something new to the team.

EDIT: Leap is great for getting away from anti-dodge skills like diving tackle etc, nice pick up!
