I don't see why anyone wouldn't pick the Strenght upgrade. Bloodbowl is about two things. First, the ability to control the ball and second, the ability to put other player out of play. The strenght upgrade let you do these two things. If you think about it, you could have had 5 st4+ player (2bull centaur, 2st4hobgobelin, 1bigguy) in your chaos dwarf team. Your team could have kicked ass. Also an hobgoblin with st4 and ag4 would have made the best ball carrier in your team.

The only true Bloodbowl player is the Dirty Player.

Just because the player is a "passer" doesn't mean he has to be exclusively developed for that role. +1ST on a Skaven team is a godsend. Build the guy for running the ball.
Give him block, use future doubles for dodge and sidestep, stick him near the line on offence and gather with your other thrower who will presumably have accurate and all the trimmings. You can choose to pass over the top or dump off to your ST4 thrower who can then either run downfield and make the short TD pass to a reciever, or you can fall your recievers back to a cage and put this guy in the middle where he'll be hard to stop. Disguises your plays and gives you options.
On D the guy is great for making unassisted blocks on the ball carrier then gathering the ball. His high ST will make it difficult for the opposition to immediately turn you over, giving you time to consolidate.

For the record, they were (are) kicking ass without the ST4 Hobgoblin. So far I have not regretted my decision at all either.Radagast666 wrote:I don't see why anyone wouldn't pick the Strenght upgrade. Bloodbowl is about two things. As you say, bloodbowl is about two things. I can already put enough players out of play, I don't need another ST4 player sitting around, falling over because he doesn't have block and needing another 16 SPP to get anywhere. I believe (and it has been the case so far) that the AG4 passer gives me far greater ability to control the ball. It just gives me far more options, especially if my opponent is expecting a traditional Chaos Dwarf team.
I totally agree that on a skaven team, the choice is more clear. I would take the +1 ST for the thrower, because it gives you something rare for a skaven team. I reckon my hobgoblin does the same thing for my chaos dwarves, ie makes them a multidimensional team.
