does an undead team need 4 ghouls?

Here's the thing, I'm slowly puting together enough models of various types to give me the option of playing them as either necro or undead. For ghouls I am planning to use otherworld's ghouls with self sculpted armour. Problem is there are only 3 of them.

Although I could compliment them with a Heresy deathball ghoul, is it really necessary? Ghouls are the main pace in an undead team, but also the team weak point (AV7 and no regen).

Your thoughts, PLEASE!

If you are going to a tournament with them, then YES. Spoken at length about this with people in my league who have lots of experience playing Undead at tourneys, and they are all adament that four is the number you want.

They aren't so fragile when you can give them all Block or Wrestle, and they are by far the quickest and most mobile ball handlers on the team.

You'll want 4 in a league too, to cover for the occasional MNG or death (that may seem counter intuitive, but sometimes you will get to field all 4).

Thanks for the quick repsonses guys. That's what I figured, but I was trying to persuade myself that I didn't need to spend the little extra it'll cost because I'm cheap!

Yes.
When Zombies were 30k and you could hire the Count every game you could easily make do with no Ghouls at all, but now that they are only cost 30TV to be miles better than a Zombie 4 are essential.

Yes, all four, their MA, AG and Dodge is a godsend for the Undead.

I agree with everybody. The Ghouls are the unsung heroes of the Undead team. They work well in packs of 3 or 4. If you have 4 on the roster, you will be more likely to have at least 3 on the park. They get the bulk of the team's SPPs, thus you do not need to worry too much about losing them from time to time (which is bound to happen). 4 Ghouls seem much better than 2 (Necros).

Also, you don't need to use a Deathball Ghoul.. if you need extra zombies a pack of three ghouls (one to be a ghoul and two to be zombies) can be ideal. I put my Heresy Necro team together before Andy had any zombies and used Ghouls for Zombies and for Ghouls, using crouching ghouls as ghouls and standing ones as Zombies!!
