Ulfwerener development

Post by narg »

I've got two ulfwereners with block - guard - mighty blow, one just got a new skill and the other is just one casualty away from his next skill.

I'm hesitating between three skills: tackle, break tackle and piling on. I'm facing mostly bashy teams but they've got a few players with dodge (bull centaurs or marauders for example) and I don't have any player with both tackle and mighty blow so I'm leaning towards tackle. Break tackle could be interesting as well to reposition in defense: I could for example use it to get away from a minotaur and give a guard assist to a berserker. Piling on seems to be a popular choice on ulfwereners but I'm not too sure about it.

Tackle - ensure you knock the dodgers down!

Stand Firm is an option too.

ST4, Block, Guard, Stand Firm is a great and very annoying combo making the Ulf pretty hard to get rid of. Plus he's a lot harder to surf back if Frenzy ends him up on the sidelines.

I'll second that. Frenzy/SF is also great for cagecracking.

Break Tackle would be my second choice.

What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

I'm not a huge fan of stand firm actually, I've got a few players with stand firm in another team (orcs) and I never found it very useful: the few times where the stand firm players were really in an annoying position (next to ball carrier or in the way of a catcher for example) they were successfully blocked. Furthermore as my opponents are mostly bashy teams my norse would be the ones who tend to want to dodge away, not the other way around so often when my ulfwereners get blocked the opponent follows up.

Then I recommend Break Tackle.
