Block / Mighty Blow Witch Elf rolled 6+4
Hey Folks,
I need an advice or at least help taking my decision. My "new" Witch Elf Cassandra just rolled 6+4 on 31SPP skill roll, after she got Block and Mighty Blow on 6 and 16 SPP rolls. Now I dont know what to choose. There are so many good choices... The whole Team is very well developped, with a TV of 2.900K and 13 Players...
My Favorites:
-Take +MA, and make her a faster blitzer, wich is her function with Mighty Blow anyway and making easier Oneturners.
-drop the 10 - and take SideStep as Normal Skill
-Take +AV to make her live longer.
What do the experienced coach think?

If it was a double 5, that might have been a hard choice.
+ma rocks. You can add SS next skill.

I'd absolutely go Sidestep.
Having Sidestep gives you four benefits:
(1) Your witch can safely 'crowd surf' someone without having to use the turn's blitz, and shoving people off the pitch is what witches do best
(2) It allows you control where your frenzied witch will end up after a block, as opposed to being at the mercy of your opponent deciding where his player goes twice
(2) Your witch can take up a position on the sidelines safely, and coupled with one or two other players can make a nasty sideline cage that's both safe and frees up more of your team for other areas
(3) Sidestep is wonderful for both controlling the space of the pitch (which is one-third of the whole game) and keeping her safe by preventing chain blocking against her (and since she's already a Blodger, this would probably keep her more safe, in general, than having AV8 would)
Just to add: Sidestep is an amazing skill even without Frenzy, and it gets exponentially more amazing each time you add another sidestepper to the team. It's great when even your stunned lineman can sidestep his body into a spot that blocks the one hole your opponent was desperately trying to clear. Sidestep is one of those skills that only looks okay on paper but is amazing on the pitch. Whereas, in my opinion, Mighty Blow looks amazing on paper but is only okay on the Pitch.

+MA. Side Step is a very good skill, but wait to 51. At MA8 with Blodge/Frenzy/MB/JumpUp/AG4, you won't have to wait long.
That player is a terror. Tackle or Shadowing or DT at 76?
If it were a double-five, I'd say take POMB, with Tackle at 51. But on 6+4, MA8 just opens up too much awesomeness.

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

When I play DEs, I commonly find my MA7 players in situations where they are short of one point of MA. You know what that implies...

I'd go with the AV... a bit more protection for frenzy.

Seconded. S-Step is great, but with MA8 it's very easy to skill up this Witch.mattgslater wrote:+MA. Side Step is a very good skill, but wait to 51. At MA8 with Blodge/Frenzy/MB/JumpUp/AG4, you won't have to wait long.

Re: Block / Mighty Blow Witch Elf rolled 6+4
If you have mb on a frenzied blitzer can I offer tackle.
SS is great but you can cope without it as you will be hitting lots with the witch.
I could be wrong with the ma8 thing but I find my life is better if I stop using the Witch as a receiver and just concentrate on killing stuff. I can see JU,tackle, mb, frenzy, block working for me. Ma 8 I would use on offense to score and not to threaten players. I think also ma8 has no synergy with MB but I can see a counter argument.
Hmmmm. Thinking about Dark Elves they are slow and they are weaker on offense. But you didnt pick MB first skill to help in that aspect so I dont see ma8 following the earlier choice. If you had catch or dump off as skill one then ma8 is a no brainer. However as you tread the bash/blitzkrieg path im tempted to stick with it. Pilling on would make a magnificent second choose so get tackle now to offer that option. MA8 Mb PO sounds a mixed player which I dont personally rate.

Thanks for all the replies!
I just picked the MA. Sidestep and Tackle are definitely my next choices though!
