Strength 4 dark elf assassin rolled an 11 for this skill.

Post by JJB »

Hi all

I'm nearing the end of a competitive season, with 3 games max left.

My st 4 assassin rolled a 6 + 5 for his 2nd skill roll, shall I give him the +ag? (Team roster below.)

This may be appropriate considering my next opponent is goblins with three diving tacklers...

Thoughts?

Thanks.

I'd give him dodge or sidestep.. his str is mostly defensive at this point if he's using stab.. dodge makes him harder to knock down and a bit more mobile, ss keeps people from pushing him away to avoid stab or shadowing. 5 ag won't do much for him for the 40k cost, and if the team retires in 3 games better off getting the cheaper higher-use skills.

He's of more use stabbing or 1-assist 3dblocking the goblins than dodging, plus his shadowing helps counter thier dodge/stunty.

It always feel painful to drop a +ag, but what you say makes sense.

I think I would have ignored the ST for a multiblock and will definately ignore AG, he really need skills way more than anything.

Well, 2 assassins is possibly a bit over-much. But snce you've got them, take AG, and aim for Leap next?

He'd need 15spps in 2 games in order to make use of it (3 games left in season as per OP)

Will there be a next season?

Taking +ST was kinda crazy, might as well go full crazy!

With only 3 games left I'd take block and use him as a blitzer.

Agree with the above comments. Multi-block probably better than +1ST. With +ST he is a good player, but no longer an Assassin (In practice you will take blocks rather than stabs most of the time). In a longer-running league +AG and Leap would be fun for cage-breaking. If the team only has 3 games left, pick a skill that goes with +1ST (Block probably) and have fun.

All the best.

Yeah, didn't you see page AB@(£)&3392 sub-section 39&(£&)"##047 of the LRB 8.3?
JJB's assassins can get a strength increase on an 11 as well as 12 for their skill roll.

Although now I think of it, block may be more useful.
