With the cash, I'd go for Blitzer + BOB. Good balance of added speed and power.
For the BOB, block is the way to go.
For the Thrower strong arm is a classic, although dodge is nice as well. You can risk to keep him open for a turn if he has blodge and no tacklers are near. Dodge often helps the passing as well by shortening the pass distance by one band if you can dare to do a dodge on the move before throwing. And Dodge on the first skill would nicely combine with a possible AG+ upgrade on the next two skill rolls, while strongarm + AG4 + accurate would be a bit overpowered for my taste.

Hm, i got the feeling, too, thats the best combination... so i will get my 4 BOs and ... again.. 3 Blitzer. I would like to have a BigGuy, too, as every team of my league seems to own one. But thats the best way... the gobbos have to wait to learn flighingWith the cash, I'd go for Blitzer + BOB. Good balance of added speed and power.

True, thats was he need... last game my BO was just the toy of the opposite Oger... and no reroll to spare to try dodging away from this beast. Just up and down, up and down,....For the BOB, block is the way to go.

And keeping standing with the ball after just a pushback for the next turn... yes i like this idea. For the Thrower strong arm is a classic, although dodge is nice as well. You can risk to keep him open for a turn if he has blodge and no tacklers are near. Dodge often helps the passing as well by shortening the pass distance by one band if you can dare to do a dodge on the move before throwing.

i see.. with this kind of " speed" BOs hardly deliver TDs... slowly building up SPPs with cas.... BO, because you need the BO´s as fast as possible to get block on them.
Thanks for the help again...

But that's good. Would have been better with a lineorc. But keeping the Ogre on the chain keeps him away from the action.
If you are ever in the sitution that it does not matter very much, try to score with a BO once in a while. Keep in mind, they need the same dice roll to get the ball than a Bull Centaur (still 75% with a RR). They are just a little slower.i see.. with this kind of " speed" BOs hardly deliver TDs... slowly building up SPPs with cas.... BO, because you need the BO´s as fast as possible to get block on them.

No hard game... a fun game !
I will post some picts tonight. A short roundup of the game:
- norse team attacked with 7 ogre and 4 gobbo including one with pogo !
- my orcteam defended with 4 Bos, 3 Blitzers, 3 Lineorcs and 1 Thrower.
My orcs managed to keep all ogre occupied and put two gobbos out for the first half. Two times his gobbos broke through, two time i stop them.
No TD in the first half.
Second half, 3th turn my orcs lost the ball... damm, 3 gobbos run through the small breach made of his ogres. Double damm this skill " sidestep"... those gobbos just glued at my ball carrier.
Well, at turn 8 second half one of my blitzers dodged 3 times through a protection screen for his gobbo, holding the ball and waiting one square in front of my TD zone. The blitzer made three sucessful dogdes
... just 2 more " go for it" to kick this $%&$%& gobbo at turn 8 into the fans. But for the first "go for it" i roll a 2... no prob at normal weather, but not at blizzard conditions. But just to see the face of my opponent coach watching the three dodges...
Well, 0:1 lost, casulities 1:2 and just a Lineorc out for the next game.
60k earnings, total with savings 90k. Hm, will i buy a 4th blitzer now or should i buy another two gobbos ? Two open slots free in my roster. Those gobbos are fun to play as i saw and quite bothering.
Maybe no new new skills, but we forgot to roll for MVP
Next game against a skaven team !

Against Ogre Team
Hey Traveller,
it'll be a tough one, but with a little bit of luck, you might outmaneuver them. Try not to stand next to Ogres (an obvious one, I guess
), so that only one of them can hit you with a blitz.
Then try to take out his gobbos one by one. They break easy, so whenever you get hold of one, take him out. Thereby, you are both reducing his offensive options as well as increasing yours, as you can run circles around the big ones.
Should you really get into the position to block one of his Ogres (BO, with one or two assists, or Blitzer with two) then try it. You might get lucky. It happened to me against Tim. First action for my Mino, Ogre is out.
Well, good luck at the game ....

Hm, maybe my english isn´t sooo good, but i wrote i played already, Arkan.
Thats what i did... with some success
But mostly pushbacks with no following up of my orcs
I´m learning, slowly, but i´m learning.
Maybe not enough for the Mannheim event, but i dont expect anything than fun anyway. My big mistake until now, it takes me to long to play a game...

Wow... maybe i learned a bit at Mannheim Massaker ...or i got better dices this time
I won 3:1 against a skaven Team. Wohooo.
I have to admit, my opponent coach got very bad luck with his dices. Like double skulls for his ratogre, lots of double rerolled 1 for dodging and go for it,... My team managed to get "his" ball two times... sometimes he got 4 Rats KO, finaly 2 casualities for my team at the end of the game.
At turn 6, second half, we got a riot which finished the game earlier. That was OK, as we played outside at our balcony and it become quite fresh outside
Well, i got another skill for a blitzer... a (6+4) 10 roll = +1 MA.
Or better another skill ? Right now i got a blitzer with guard, a lineorc with tackle, a lineorc with block, a thrower with strong arm, a gobbo with catch and a BO with block. I think +1MA blitzer could be a nasty surprise for some opponent coach

yep, I'd also take the increased range. As you say, some more flexibility and nasty surprises in your arsenal. Hand over, run, pass, TD. Some Elfish plays on an Orc Team, as Tim would say. With the Catch-Gobbo, a good thrower and a fast runner, you'll have some very agile plays in store.

Quite tired after a hard three day Rhetoric Seminar i played my 8th game against a undead team again. Now the second round of the games started.
Recieving my team managed the first touchdown at turn 4... nice to have a blitzer +1MA
At turn 7 the four very fast Ghouls ( 3x block/dogde... argh!) did a great combination : 1:1.
Just one turn left of the the first half. And just 3 skeletons on the front line to beat for my now 3 BOs ( one other BO went home for this game after turn 3
), all other undead players stand in their own Touchdown zone.

And, what happend ... Field Invasion
I think, the own fans of the Undead team decided to punish the team because the cowardice?!
Of the 4 hurt players 3 players kept out of the game for the second half ... including on of those block skill mummies !!
http://www.ruediger-rickassel.de/picts/leaguegame8b.jpg
The second half started with a riot, which took 2 turns to calm down. The ghouls kept changing sides, but somehow my team spoiled all attempts to break through... with his less players the opposite coach played very well with his fast Ghouls ! I was forced to return my Blitzers to keep him from scoring. Last two turns one of his Ghouls threw the ball just in front of my TDzone and there was a big race for all to get the ball...
http://www.ruediger-rickassel.de/picts/leaguegame8c.jpg
The game ended 1:1 TD, and casulities, too. But no badly hurt player on my side
One of my Blitzers will get a new skill. Hm, as the most teams i´m playing against a bashy teams, i was thinking about another Blitzer with guard. So i can go hunting for poor catcher or thrower with two blitzers, which help each other ?! Or to get a Str5 BO sometimes ?
Or still better a Tackle Blitzer as i got the feeling, a lot of player are getting Block/dodge now ?
As i got 4 BOs and 4 Blitzers now, I m saving the total of 90k money now for a nice Ogre, too.
EDIT: Put some picts into the post
