I'll stick with the stand firm trait, then.

I'm more familiar with it than side-step, so it's easier for me to use...

Stand firm is great, but turning down movement on the slowest team in the game doesnt' sound like a great idea.

okay....

I had decided on stand firm...

Now I'm unsure again...

Okay, people, stand firm or movement? Let's say I'm keeping him away from the sidelines. And let's say that I don't.

If you dont use him on the sidelines take MM if you want to make the tactic you wrote befor Stand firm would be better in this situation.

I rolled a double 5 on the skill roll. Should I take the +MA or should I pick the stand firm trait? Or something else entirely?
Stand Firm would be my forst response but something to concider. How many TRR do you have? If you have low # of TRR I would seriously consider Pro. Pro helps on failed dauntless rolls and re-rolling push results. You use it a lot when you have Multi-Block. I think however since you didn't get multi-Block on him then your best is still stand firm.

No self respecting Dwarf would ever...EVER...take dodge.

My two cents are, If you want to run the sidelines and push most of your opponents off the pitch, then Stand Firm is in order. SF with Frenzy is one of the best combos. However, If you plan on keeping the Slayer in the middle of the pitch, then the movement is the choice to go. Bear in mind, you always have a 1 in 6 chance of getting a double. Your chance to get a MV increase is only 1 in 12. But if you got something in mind team wise then use it that way.
And just to throw something else out there, because you have tackle allready, and it is a doubles roll, think about Diving tackle if you want to use the Slayer in a more passive Safety roll. But for the most part I prefer my slayers to be aggressive as much as possible.
