If you want a blitzer to score a lot take fend...

They hit you and get stuck, that can ruin future assists and perhaps leave you in a position to make your TD run without needing to dodge.
Side Step - Fend anyone?

On Elf teams this becomes worse with Blodge an easy grab.

If I was building a Dark elf Blitzer to score...
Dodge, Fend, Sure Hands, Side Step, Tackle ... (Juggernaught, Guard)

I have met this blitzer on the pitch, and I can say he is a nasty buggar! Side step might be a "better" choice, but it is really annoying and demoralizing that most block dice results end up doing exactly nothing to the guy (blodge/sf).

The Stand Firm is nice...the optimal thing would be to put him on the edge on the wide zone, with a line elf with guard nearby. That would make for a pretty tough defense on that side, forcing the opponent to the other side or up the middle of the field.

yes, guard on any of the linemans would be optimal but...

we se about the new skill though.

Mighty Blow or maybe tackle. (Although it's only Lizards and Amazons that is dodge heavy so...). Acctualy I go mighty blow (NOS would be intresting if one had rolled a double there, but no that was the Runner, who gets NOS never the less.)

See, I'd put strong arm on a runner who rolled doubles. The long pass isn't usually our bag, but it would be nice to be competent in it for emergency purposes.
