Yeah. Hate it, gnash your teeth, whatever, but the guy's only messing with you in-game. You have your own damn team: don't bitch, don't get huffy, don't punch him or kick him in the groin, just play for the recovery, and if you want, get nasty back at him. If you're too beat-up to do anything, just lay on the ground and let him score; letting your opponent run out the clock is another way of acknowledging you got your ass kicked.

But if your opponent is stalling for more than one turn (one turn, I agree, is the most goal-line stalling that I think acceptable), it should send you a clear signal: he doesn't think he's won the game yet. If he can stall on you for longer than that turn or so, it's probable that you've been so badly wiped out that another drive would be in his best interests anyway. I guess it might change the equation a little if you had 2 Babes and a bunch of KOs, but I can't think of another exception.

I see a lot of people saying camping on the goalline is verboten, not a nice thing to do.

But look in on any of the advice requested thread for Khemri, Dwarves, Orcs, etc. And the #1 piece of advice given is "stall so you only score in turn 8"

In a league game, I have no problem with stalling. A personal trait of mine, I have more fun, regardless of the events of the game, if I am the winner at the end! :smoking: Not to say I have a win at all cost mentality - I help and offer advice to new coaches I'm playing, I like to have fun while playing the game, but at the end of the day I feel better and enjoy myself more with a win, even if I have to camp for 2-3 turns.

If your opponent is able to 'camp' on your endzone and not score turn after turn, it's YOUR FAULT for letting your opponent get into such an advantageous situation. Plain and simple.

The only time I would say this isn't true is if your KO and Cas boxes are overflowing, in which case Nuffle hates you and there's nothing you could have done anyways.

Stalling is a legitimate tactic, whether it be to make sure your opponent cant score in the following drive, or just to beat up his team for fun or vengeance for being outscored.

I'm with Spiff. It's not how I play, but I don't have a problem with those who do. If they can get away with spending 4 turns on the goal line before walking in, you've done something wrong.

100% true. However you can almost always make him regret prolonged stalling. Aim for his lone players (or blitz them in order to separate some) and then hurt him. Make a nice chain of blocks and push him out of field or if you can separate someone worth of it just go for foul. If he is camping for 4 turns you can push out at least 2 of his players and it will hurt even a toughest team.

Thats exactly the idea. The way I see it, either you're outnumbered to the point of being put on the endangered species list, or you screwed up your D horribly and you've got a cage behind your team...
With the former you really can only blitz, foul and run away. (unless you happen to have a wardancer, or just crazy). And every player of yours that gets kicked out for fouling is one that he cant hurt.

The latter you can deal with even if you cant stop the TD.
Think about it. If your opponent can effectively cage or just protect his ballcarrier, it's going to take a decent chunk of his team. A full cage for example, thats 5 players. Ignore them entirely. That leaves 6 other players for your 11(maybe less) to hunt down and destroy. Let him score when he wants to, but make sure he pays for it in blood. Fouling will be nearly essential.
Of course you can always force him to score by throwing every available player directly onto the cage. Maybe even get the ball loose too. Basic cagebreaking stuff. So what if he gets a whole bunch of free hits on you. It forces him to either make lots of rolls to keep his cage intact, or run in the TD.
And if all that fails... go for that 5+ or 6+ dodge for the hit! got dodge or a reroll? even better! Show your opponent that you're not just going to take it. If he knows you're serious, and that you'll take the risks, he'll also know that the magic 6 or magic pow can happen, and he'll be stuck on the wrong end of the pitch to stop you from taking that ball completely out of his reach.
