That's Dwarfs. They all start with the key starting skill and one of the better "variety" skills. They can't handle the ball, so many G skills are useless to them. There's one clear best Strength skill (which is a problem: bring back the old Mighty Blow, I say) and it coincidentally happens to counteract their one major weakness at the only kind of game they can play. Not much you can do about it, if you want to win games.

guard first. then get skills that help on defence, and this depends on your style of play, and your opposition. My typical defence setup is a basic 3-4-4. typically it has 2 key player to be blitzed leaving the opposition a route into my half. +ST, stand firm and side step make the defence much stronger. If going versus bashy teams stand firm is still of use to stop them advancing. So i tend to end up with my first 2 LBs going stand firm after guard. After that it's either mighty blow or grab if side steppers are a problem. Doubles i like diving tackle best or side step.

For positionals:

I like tackle on at least 1 positional eventually, for when elves break through and are waiting for the catch. Often my LBs are on the front line, so i need a tackler in the backfield.
